Admissions at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) is purely based on merits obtained by the students in the CLAT. Students are required to obtain a minimum of 55% aggregate marks( 50% for SC/ST) in the qualifying exam to become eligible for admission.

Under the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for Scheduled Caste (SC) Students, five scholarships have been allotted by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India to this University.The University may give maximum concession up to 50% of the tuition fee to two most deserving students. Under the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for Scheduled Tribe (ST) Students, two scholarships have been allotted by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India to this University.

The university has various facilities as mentioned above, some of them are :
Hostels - The Institute has 8 hostels in total, 4 for boys and 4 for girls. All the hostels are equipped with an aqua guard with a water-cooler to ensure 24-hour pure drinkable water supply. Proper hygiene and sanitation facilities are maintained by 24 - hour housekeeping service. The hostels are also equipped with 24 hour secured Wifi connection.
Computer Labs - The University has established two fully air conditioned computer Labs with 80 computers having the latest configuration and high speed internet facility.
Dining Hall - The hostels have fully Air-Conditioned dining halls separate for boys and girls having a total capacity of 330 students each.
Gymnasium - Gym is well equipped with cardio machines like treadmills, cross trainer, spin bikes, etc.; and also has machines for weight training. Professionally trained personal trainers/ coaches, for boys and girls separately, are available to guide the work out regimes of the members attending the Gym.

To apply for CLAT as required for the UG and PG programs, the steps mentioned below should be followed:
Log on to the official website of CLAT 2021 and register using personal mobile number and email id.
Log in with the details sent on the mobile number. Fill in the form carefully. Also, fill in preferences for NLUs.
Upload the required documents.
Pay the application fee of INR 4000.

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) was established in 2006 in Patiala, Punjab. It is one of the 22 National Law Universities of India. It is approved by the Bar Council of India and registered with University Grants Commission (UGC). It offers BA.LLB as an undergraduate course, LLM in multiple specializations as a postgraduate course, and Ph.D. courses at the post-doctoral level.
Candidates applying to RGNUL Patiala BA.LLB must have passed 10 + 2. Admissions are based on CLAT.
Admissions to LLM are also based on CLAT PG / CLAT LLM. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in law to be eligible.
Admissions to Ph.D. courses are based on an entrance test conducted by the institute. Candidates must be qualified with LLM to apply.
