Bahra University, approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) is located in the Shimla Hills, Solan and was established in the year 2011. The University is one of the leading members of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Bahra University has been ranked as the Number 1 University in Himachal Pradesh and has grabbed 13th position in India by Silicon Valley 2014.
Bahra University offers Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Law, Hospitality, Management and many more featured programs. Bahra University Scholarships
Bahra University provides several scholarships to students in terms of fee waivers. The fee waivers may vary based on the merit scored by the candidate in the last qualifying examination. To avail the various scholarships offered by Bahra University, candidates need to have the required valid certificates. For the candidates seeking fee waiver on a merit basis, they need to have the respectively required mark sheet to claim the scholarship schemes.
The various scholarships schemes offered by Bahra University include:
- Merit-Based Scholarships: These scholarships are provided based on the marks scored in the last qualifying examination. However, the amount of fee waiver from the scholarship will vary with the marks scored by the candidate.
- Scholarship for Defence Personnel: Candidates who are wards of Defence Personnel are entitled to get this scholarship. Candidates who want to avail this scholarship need to submit the Defence Personnel Certificate as in the prescribed format.
- Employee Ward’s Concession(RGBI): Candidates whose parents are employees in any of the Rayat Bahra University campuses can apply for this scholarship.
- Covid 19 Scholarship: Candidates who belong to Economically weaker classes can avail this scholarship. This is not a permanent scholarship and is only available for a short period of time.
- Scholarship for Rayat Bahra Students Group: Candidates who have studied in any of the Rayat Bahra Colleges earlier are entitled to get this scholarship.

The University was established in the year 2011 by the Rayat Bahra Group and is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC), Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

For B. Tech., the admission is on the basis of JEE Main/HPCET marks. For B. Pharmacy, the selection is on the basis of HPCET score.
The basic eligibility criteria for the other UG courses is that the aspirants should have passed class 12th in relevant discipline with at least 50% marks while for PG courses, applicants should have a graduate degree in a required stream from a recognized university or institute.
For M. Tech, MCA, MBA, and M.Pharm., candidates must possess a valid score in HPCET. The selection criteria for a few courses is on the basis of the entrance exam.
