Kannur University is a multi-campus university with seven campuses spread across the major districts of Kerala. The University has been accredited with NAAC grade ‘B’. and is approved under UGC, AIU, NCTE, ACU, AICTE & MCI.
The University is ranked 171st in India and 4360th in the World 2022 overall rankings as well as got ranked in 11 academic topics. Kannur University Admission Process
Admission to kannur University UG courses will be offered on the basis of candidate’s aggregate marks obtained in 12th or equivalent, through a centralized process called UG CAP.
Kannur University PG admissions will be done on the basis of a university level entrance test, PG CAP, for graduate candidates.
Admission to the Post Graduate Degree Programme is done under Choice Based Credit and Semester (CBCS) system in Government/Aided / Self Financing Affiliated Colleges
Admission to the Kannur University UG/PG Degree Programmes in the University Teaching Departments/ Centres is made based on Online Centralized Allotment..
Admission to bachelor courses such as B.Ed, and LLB will be open for candidates who have completed their UG.
Research degree admissions at Kannur University such as Ph.D. and M.Phil will be open to candidates with PG, and admissions will be offered based on their valid score in an entrance test conducted by the university. The syllabus for this test will be the same as that of the UGC/NET syllabus, for the same subject. However, some candidates are exempted from this entrance test on the following conditions:
i) Applicants having valid NET/JRF/CSIR or equivalent scores.
ii) Applicants who are currently employed with aided colleges / who are currently employed at unaided colleges under Kannur university with a minimum experience of 5 years.
iii) Applicants having Govt. fellowships or funding
iv) Applicants who have already completed their M.Phil (in case of Ph.D. admissions)
v) Applicants working as permanent scientists / social scientists at Govt, sectors for a minimum of 3 years.
Kannur University Scholarships
Kannur university provides a scholarship called Mrs. Sudha Krishnan endowment scholarship. This scholarship is to promote and assist deserving and meritorious students belonging to financially weaker section UG 1st students who can apply for this scholarship at any of the Kannur University affiliated colleges. The aspiring candidates must not score less than 60% in class 12. The parent of the student must be a fisherman with an annual income of fewer than 60,000 rupees.
Students can also avail of fellowships which are granted by the Kerala government named E-grant for the students of the poor family so that they can also study.

Library: The library provides the facilities of DELNET and UGC INFONET. The library also has the facility of software SOUL, developed by the INFLIBNET. The library is a recognized university as the research centre of History, Sanskrit, Statistics, Philosophy, English, Sociology, Economics, Malayalam etc.
Computer lab: In the computer lab there are almost 2o computers with wifi enabled connection and. And there is also a separate facility for taking photocopies at Kannur University.
