Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University is a state university established by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu for promoting the excellence in teacher’s education. It is the only one of its kind in the country. The main object of the university is to provide good training and a proper degree of the teachers; so that they can build up better students. There are 657 TNTEU Affiliated Colleges that are offering Bachelor of Education degree Course.
The courses offered by TNTEU include B.Ed, M.Ed, and research programs in the field of education. The university provides the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scholarship for SC/ ST Candidates. Admission to the university is both merit and entrance-based. Students are shortlisted on the basis of mask obtained either in the previous qualifying examination or in the entrance exam conducted by the university.

TNTEU Admission
Admission at Tamil Nadu Teachers University is both merit and entrance-based. Admission to B.Ed, M.Phil, and Part-time PhD program is based on merits obtained by the students in the previous qualifying examination. Whereas, Admission to M.Ed and Full-time PhD is entrance-based. The entrance test is conducted by the university itself.
The registration process of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University is done through offline mode.
The application procedure is carried out through offline centres located at 13 different colleges affiliated with TNTEU, Chennai.
Selection is done on the basis of the merit of the last qualifying exam. Listed candidates on the basis of their marks are considered for the admission process.

Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) is a State University, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The University was established in the year 2008. It offers UG, PG, and Doctoral level programs in Education. Every year, TNTEU begins the application process for B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D. programs in the first week of August. The University offers two years M.Ed. program in multiple specializations. The candidates must have completed B.Ed. in the relevant specialization are eligible to apply for M.Ed. program. Selection will be based on scores obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the University.

- The duration of the course is 4 years and the intake capacity of each course is 100.
- The university reserves seats for different categories of students.
- Open category students are given 50% seats, BC/ BCM are given 45% seats, MBC/ DNC are given 43% seats, and SC/ ST/ SCA are given 40% seats.
TNTEU M.Phil., Ph.D. Admission 2022
TNTEU provides part-time and full time various doctoral-level programs. The full-time M.Phil. program is for 1-year duration, while the part-time course is for 2 years. The course duration of a Ph.D. program is 3 years. The minimum eligibility for all doctoral programs is a candidate must have completed post-graduation in education. Seats will be allotted on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam and performance in the interview conducted by the University.
