SLBSRSV, now known as “Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University”, has been accredited “deemed University” status by UGC in the year 1987. It was established in 1962 in New Delhi, and is a Central Sanskrit University.

SLBSRSV has consistently achieved high performance which was lauded by the 10th five-year plan review Committee. SLBSRSV has a vision to interpret the Shastric traditions in the modern context, preserving them.

It offers 23 courses across 2 streams. It provides UG and PG courses, along with M.Phil. and Ph.D. Courses. It also offers part-time Certificate and Diploma Courses to selected candidates. It also provides opportunities for higher studies in auxiliary components of Sanskrit like Jyotish, and Vastu Shastra.

The courses offered by SLBSRSV are BA, MA, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Phil, and PhD along with diploma and certification courses.

Admission to BA, MA, and M.Phil provided based on the entrance test followed by Interview is the criteria for the admissions. For and Ph.D, B.Ed., and M.Ed. Courses, admissions are made on the basis of the All India Combined Entrance Test followed by Personal Interview.

SLBSRSV College Admission
For admission to BA, MA, and M.Phil an entrance test followed by Interview is the criteria for the admissions. 

For and Ph.D, B.Ed., and M.Ed. Courses, a candidate must have secured 55% marks in Masters’ degree from a recognized University. Admissions are made on the basis of the All India Combined Entrance Test followed by Personal Interview.

SLBSRSV has a placement cell which guides its students to enhance their skills and be employable in their respective fields. A Career Counselling Centre was established under the 11th five-year plan. Different career based activities are organized from time to time to impart necessary skills to the students

SLBSRSV Scholarships

SLBSRSV extends scholarships to its meritorious and needy students to encourage them and promote Sanskrit in the present times. In case of lack of scholarships, 2nd or 3rd Year Students may be given the scholarship who couldn’t earn it in 1st Year.

Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha established in 1962 by the Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrit Sahitya Sammelan. It is a member of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGS) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). 

Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha offers admission to diverse programmes such as B.A., M.A., B.Ed., M.Ed. & M.Phil. to students through a Regular course. It also offers a PhD programme with 171 seats and almost 19 areas of specializations. Candidates who have qualified their 10+2 exam are eligible to apply for the B.A. course and the institute offers 20 specializations in this programme. For M.A., candidates must have a graduation degree in the relevant field and for M.Phil., a post graduation degree is mandatory.

Admission to B.A., M.A., and M.Phil. courses in SLBSRSV are based on the Entrance Exam conducted by the institute. Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University offers a Bachelor of Arts in various disciplines for the duration of 3-4 years. The minimum eligibility required to seek admission at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University is 10+2 with 40% marks. Admission will be granted on the basis of marks obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
