Nagaland University offers several undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes in different fields. Arts, Science, Commerce, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering & Technology and Management streams are some of the programmes offered by the University.
The University was founded in 1994 as the Central University Educational institute and has 3 permanent and 1 temporary campus with Lumami, Zunheboto as its Headquarter. There are a total of 41 departments out of which 13 departments and 4 centres are located in Lumami, Zunheboto, 11 departments and 2 centres at Meriema campus, 12 departments at Medziphema campus and 5 departments at the temporary campus in Dimapur. The overall ranking of Nagaland University is 151 as declared by NIRF 2020 and it has also bagged approval from the UGC. Currently, Nagaland University affiliates 65 colleges from all across the state of Nagaland.

For All UG level programmes a minimum qualification of 10+2 level exam in the relevant stream from a recognized Board or equivalent is required. Nagaland University Admission
Nagaland University offers Merit or Entrance Exam score based admission for all the courses available at UG, PG and Doctoral levels.
For admission to MBA programmes, candidates must have a valid CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ ATMA score.
For B.Tech. programmes candidates must qualify JEE Main.

Hostel: The Nagaland University provides 4 boys hostels (1 for Research scholars and 3 for PG students) and 5 girls hostels (1 for Research scholars and 4 for PG students). The hostels are fully furnished and have a good internet connection. Students are served meals twice a day. For the engagement of student boarders, the hostel authorities have provided table tennis, carrom, TV, etc.
Library: Nagaland University has three permanent campuses. The departments covered by the different libraries are Departments under Lumami Campus Library, Departments under Medziphema Campus Library, Departments under Kohima Campus Library.
Sports: Different sports equipment are provided to the students. The college has indoor and outdoor sports tools. Indoor games like carrom, table tennis, and chess are available in the hostel. The college has well-furnished football and cricket fields. It also has a handball, hockey field, and volleyball and badminton court.
Food Court: A full-fledged cafeteria is operating within the campus for the benefit of the staff and students. It provides fresh and good quality food that caters to the tastes of each individual.
