Birsa Agricultural University was established in 1981 and is approved by UGC. The University offers UG, PG and PhD programmes in numerous specializations. Admissions to the courses are on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examinations.
Birsa Agricultural University Admission
Admissions to the UG courses at the University are JCECE (Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Examination) or combined CEE conducted by I.C.A.R. V.C.I.
Admission to the PG courses are granted based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance test conducted by the university. Selection of candidates to MBA is done based on written test followed by GD and interview
Admission to the PhD courses is done on the basis of candidate’s performance on the entrance exam

Birsa Agricultural University Facilities
Birsa Agricultural University provides all facilities to students as well as faculty members.
Hostels: There are 14 hostels for students- out of them 5 are girls hostel and 9 are boys hostel. The hostels have all facilities for a comfortable living accompanied by a mess.
Computer Centre: The computer centre has Network Room, Video Conference Rooms with all latest software as well as hardware catering the needs of the students, faculties, staff and research scholars.
Hospital: A good hospital is available for staff and students inside the campus with the nurse and doctor. In case of emergency, an ambulance is also provided
Other Facilities: Digital Library, Guest House, Special Conference Halls, Instrumentation Facilities.

Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) Ranchi, offers UG and PG level courses in Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry and Forestry streams. In addition, it also offers research courses in a number of subjects. The programs of education and research are carried out through 5 colleges and 35 departments. It provides Bachelor’s degree with honours for 6 subjects, whereas for the PG courses, it offers 35 subjects belonging to Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, and Forestry streams. Admission to BAU Ranchi is done on the basis of Entrance Examination. Application process generally starts in the month of July every year and goes up to September. Admission form can be filled up online by visiting the University’s website.Students will be selected on the basis of their marks in the entrance test. The allotment of seats in the departments will be made through counseling only.
Basic Criteria :Students must have passed10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics (PCM/B).Entrance Exam :15% of total seats are filled by a Combined Competitive Entrance Examination conducted by I.C.A.R. V.C.I. at all India level and 85% of the total seats are filled by Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Examination Board, Ranchi.
