Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit university founded by Ahmedabad Education Society (AES). The candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements can apply to the respective course through both online and offline mode. Before applying online, the candidate shall have to procure PIN Cover by paying INR 1000/- (non-refundable) per discipline in cash to any designated branch of Dena Bank.
Admission is based on a Holistic Review (except for B.Tech and M.Tech) that comprises the following criteria:
- Academic performance (Class 10, 11 and 12)
- Personal Statement
- Extracurricular/Sports/Co-curricular achievements of the candidate
- Personal Interaction
For B.Tech, the University accepts the JEE (Mains) score or ACPC process of Govt. of Gujarat. Similarly, for admission to M.Tech, the candidate must have a GATE or PGCET score.
Note(s):
- A student in the Integrated Masters Programme receives the bachelor’s as well as the master’s degree at the end of the successful completion of the five-year Programme.
- A student has the provision to opt-out from the fifth year and receives a bachelor’s degree with Honours after meeting all prescribed requirements for this option.

Ahmedabad University Scholarships
The University provides scholarships to deserving and meritorious students to help them obtain an education. The following is a brief about the same:
- Need-based Scholarship: To be eligible for this scholarship, a student needs to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in a year.
- Merit-based Scholarship: This will be given to 1st-year students at the time of admission to any UG program. They will obtain a 100% waiver of the tuition fees for the first year.
- Financial Support: All Full-time Ph.D. students will be awarded a full tuition fee waiver and financial support. The financial support could be either University Research Fellowship, University Research Assistantship or sponsored projects. AU offers University Research Assistantship at INR 40,000 per month plus tuition fee waiver and University Research Fellowship at INR 50,000 per month plus tuition fee waiver.
Apart from these, the students admitted through the Admission Committee for Professional Courses by the Govt of Gujarat will be eligible for a full fee waiver of the tuition fee. This scholarship will be provided for all 4 years. The university admits students on a need-blind basis and firmly believes that lack of financial resources should not be a barrier to education. Hence, Financial Aid in the form of partial and even a complete waiver of tuition fees is provided to students based on eligibility.

Need-based Scholarships
- Ahmedabad University is committed to ensuring that deserving students get the support they need to obtain an education. They have instituted a Financial Aid programme to provide for their Undergraduate and Graduate students with Need-based Scholarships which can provide for a partial or even a complete waiver of tuition fees.
- Need-based Scholarships are contingent upon the student maintaining a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in a given year. Students requiring Financial Aid should contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid after receiving the offer of admission.
Merit Scholarships
- Merit scholarships are given to students in order to recognize their achievements. These merit scholarships are given at the time of admission to first-year students under UG category. 100% tuition fee waiver is given to students for the first year.
- Merit Scholarships for students of the second year and beyond will be awarded to students based on their academic achievements in the preceding years.
- B. Tech students may note that students admitted through the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) set up by the Government of Gujarat will be eligible for a full waiver of the tuition fees for all four years if awarded a scholarship. Similarly, students admitted through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) who receive a Merit Scholarship will be entitled to a full waiver of the tuition fees for all four years.
