Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University or TANUVAS was established in the year 1876 as the first veterinary and animal sciences university in Asia by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The institute is a state university and is ICAR approved. The University offers courses at UG, PG and Ph.D level across various disciplines to their students. Admission of candidates is done on the basis of merit from their last qualifying examination for UG courses, and for PG and Ph. - Shortlisting of candidates for the UG courses is done on the basis of merit from their last qualifying examination followed by verification of documents at the time of counselling.

The University imparts good quality education by the very dedicated and high qualified faculty members with years of experience in this teaching field. Banwarilal Purohit, Pro-chancellor Thiru Udumalai K Radhakrishnan and Vice-chancellor Dr. C Balachandran. At present, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) offers UG, PG and Ph.D. programs in the field of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Food Technology, Poultry Technology, Diary Technology, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology. It also offers PG Diploma course in both full-time as well as distance learning modes.
Candidates applying for any of the courses are required to score at least 60% marks in their last qualifying exam.
A resident of Tamil Nadu state is only eligible to apply.
Candidates should have attained the 17 years of age as on December 31.
A pass in Class 12th with 60% aggregate marks are a prerequisite for applying for B.Tech. and B.V.Sc. & AH.
The selection for B.Tech. and B.V.Sc. is based on merit in qualifying exam and counseling after that.
A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream is desired for PG courses.

TANUVAS B.Tech & B.V.Sc Admission 2022
TANUVAS offers B.Tech and B.V.Sc (AH) programs in various specializations.
