The Department of Science and Technology of the Govt. of India has recognized the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum (Also known as SCTIMST TRIVANDRUM) as an institute of national importance by an Act of Parliament when it was provided with the status of a University in 1980. Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Science courses includes only PG courses such as M.Tech, Diploma, PG Diploma, MD, etc. The students, who have secured a minimum of 60% in their UG or PG exams can choose from a variety of masters’ and doctorate courses in the medical field and apply online for admission to the institute. The application mode of the college remains online and the applications are required to apply for admission through the official website of the college.

SCTIMST Admissions
SCTIMST provides admission to students to Post-doctoral, Ph.D./ Master’s, Diplomas, PG Diplomas, and Advanced Certificate courses through an application form that is released on the institute’s official website. 

The form is to be submitted online and the non-refundable payment for the form is done online as well. Selection is done on the basis of a written exam and an interview. Keep in mind that you check and match all eligibility criteria before applying for any course.

Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences Infrastructure
The Institute has been divided into three wings, namely, a biomedical technology wing, a tertiary referral super specialty hospital, and the Achutha Health Centre for Health Science studies.

The institute is divided into three wings:

Hospital Wing: The hospital consists of 253 beds and fills in as a tertiary referral center for cardiovascular, thoracic, and neurologic diseases. With various profoundly qualified personnel including doctors, nurses, and other paramedical staff, different branches of the emergency clinic have refreshed cutting edge facilities for diagnosis and treatment with exceptionally progressed and refined equipment.
Biomedical Technology Wing: The Biomedical Technology Wing (BMT Wing) comprises a culturally diverse and pluralistic group focused on medical device improvement, research, and training and is situated at the Satelmond Palace at Poojappura, Trivandrum. The wide zones of activities of the wing incorporate Medical gadgets, Biomaterials, Biocompatibility, Tissue Engineering, Product incubation, and commercialization.
Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies: The Achutha Menon Center for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS) is perceived as a center of greatness for public health. The center spotlights on exploring in the regions of non-communicable diseases, sexual orientation and health, health strategy, and the executives. AMCHSS conducts a Master of Public Health (MPH), Diploma in general wellbeing (DPH), Ph.D., confirmation, and short courses in public health.

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Science and Technology (SCTIMST) is a health training and research institute located in Trivandrum. The institute offers various programs based on radiology, cardiac electrophysiology, epilepsy surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and other such treatments. 

These courses offered by SCTIMST are DPH, MPH, MPhil, M.Tech, Ph.D., and MCh CVTS along with Diploma programs. The institute provides an M.tech program in Clinical Engineering and M.Phil program in Biomedical Technology.

SCTIMST M.Tech Admissions 2022
The three institutes IIT Madras, CMC, Vellore, and SCTIMST jointly offer full-time programs of M.Tech in Clinical engineering with a duration of 2.5 years. 

SCTIMST M.Tech Eligibility
The candidate should have completed B.E/B.Tech from any recognized University.
They should have appeared for GATE (AE, CE, CH, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI, TF, and XE) and have a valid score.
SCTIMST M.Tech Selection Criteria
Selection is granted on the basis of GATE scores, screening test followed by a Personal Interview (PI).

How to Apply for GATE?
The GATE examination 2022 will be held around the 1st to 2nd week of February 2022. Candidates can apply online by following these steps:

SCTIMST MD Admission 2022
The institute offers a full-time 3 year MD course in Transfusion Medicine. Candidates who want to pursue higher education in the field of Transfusion Medicine after the completion of the MBBS degree can apply for this course. The selection to MD will be granted based on National Level Entrance Examination. 

SCTIMST MD Eligibility Criteria

To provide a deep understanding of areas related to public health and related fields, the institute offers a master's degree in Public Health with a duration of 2 years. 

SCTIMST MPH Eligibility Criteria
Medical graduates (MBBS), Dental graduates (BDS), Graduates of AYUSH (BAMS, BNYS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS), B.Tech or BE (Any Branch), and graduates of four-year degree programs are eligible to apply for MPH Programme.

SCTIMST Super-Specialty Courses Eligibility Criteria
For DM, the candidates are required to have an MD degree in the respective field that they are seeking admission to in the DM Program from any Indian University recognized by MCI or DNB.
For MCh in Cardiovascular course, the candidates should have completed MS in General Surgery from an Indian University recognized by MCI/DNB.
For 5 year course of MCh in neurosurgery, the candidate should have completed MBBS and one-year post-MBBS residency/Senior house surgency in General Surgery
For the Super-specialty Nursing program, G.N.M. or B.Sc Nursing degree is required. 
For the DPH Program, the candidates are required to have a minimum of 3 years of work experience after MBBS. 
Candidates must have a 10+2 level degree to apply for Diploma courses.

To get admission to MCh, DM, and PDCC, the candidates are selected based on the marks scored out of 100 based on the following criteria:
10 marks for MBBS.
15 marks for MD/MS/DNB

The institute offers a one-year-long full-time PhD program with a minimum duration of 3 years and a maximum duration of 5 years, The PhD course is available in 8 areas of research.

SCTIMST PhD Eligibility Criteria
For PhD, M.Sc/M.Tech any other postgraduate degree program of minimum 2 years or MBBS in any medical stream recognized by MCI.

Students should have a consistently good academic record with 60% marks in undergraduate and postgraduate examinations. Medical Graduates applying for Ph.D. in Medical Sciences should have 60% marks in MBBS.
SCTIMST PhD Selection Criteria
Students have to give a written test followed by an interview to get admitted to the M.Phil program. The institute then declares a provisional list of selected candidates and after verification of documents, admission is granted.
Selection to PhD is based on the performance in the written test and interview. The candidates also have to submit their research proposal and statement of purpose for taking up a research career.
