The Dharmsinh Desai University [DDU], instituted at Nadiad, is one of the most prospering universities of Gujarat. The University was set up by Shri Dharmsinh Dadubhai Desai in the year 1968. The University has been Ranked in the Band of 101-150 by NIRF(National Institutional Ranking Framework) in 2020. The beloved Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. H. M.Desai, has also been awarded Padma Shri by the President of India. 

 

Today, DDU offers some of the world-class Graduate, Postgraduate, and as well as Doctoral courses in Technology, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Medical Science, and Mgmt. & Info. Science. DDU Admission Process

For Admission to various courses offered by the Dharmsinh Desai University [DDU], the guidelines of the university are to be followed. Process of admission to different courses is enlisted below:-

For admission into the B.Tech courses, candidates will have to appear for GUJCET. Once qualified, candidates will be called up for the counseling process, conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC). Allotment of seats will be completely based on the GUJCET score and branch choice made by the candidate.

For admission into M.Tech courses, candidates will have to appear for the GATE exam or, Gujarat Common Entrance Exam (GUJCET). Students are selected based on the score obtained in the following exams.

For admission to various management courses such as M.B.A and M.C.A. students need to appear for CMAT (Common Management Admission Test). Based on the score of the students in the exam, the merit list of selected students is prepared. Students can fill the application form available on the University website.

For admission in Pharmaceutical Science courses students need to qualify the GUJCET exam. Only qualified students; will be registered for counseling and other documentation processes.

Students willing admission to the MBBS course need to appear for the NEET exam. Their selection is purely based on their obtained NEET score.

DDU Scholarships

Every year 4 students are awarded Rs. 25,000 based on Merit and merit cum means basis at DDU. If the students fulfill the basic requirements, the students keep on receiving the scholarship up to 4 years. 

“DDU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund” has been established under which any individual or organization willing to help the financially backward students can come forward. Till now, many of the ex-students of the have come forward for “Vidya Dan”. If anyone willing to help can draw a DD in favor of DDU Alumni Association.

DDU Facilities

DDU is Fully-fledged with all the basic required amenities. Some of the best facilities provided by the university are mentioned below:-

  • Environment – The environment of the University is made to develop the students in all fields. Not only studies but also a large number of co-curricular activities are also conducted in the university throughout the year. This ensures the all-round development of the students.
  • Teaching faculty – The teaching faculty is highly-educated and experienced due to which they make the learning experience better for students. Student commitment is guaranteed through meetings, courses, and workshops.
  • Library – The well-developed library along with the web gives access to a lot of e-journals, books. Additionally all the latest books and journals are present offline which is around more than 57,000+ books that can be accessed by the faculty and students anytime.

The university provides 34 full time UG, PG & Doctoral level courses in various fields of Engineering, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy and Management & Info Sciences. It offers B.Tech, BDS, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma and MBBS at UG level and M.Tech, MBA, MCA and M.Pharma at PG level.

Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria for the respective courses before seeking admission in the university. Admission to the most of programs is done on the basis of national level entrances test like JEE Mains (B.Tech), GATE (M.Tech), NEET (BDS) and G - CET (MBA)

Admission to B.Tech is done on the basis of qualifying examination & JEE Mains or GUJCET.

Application Process for B.Tech program

In order to complete the admission procedure, candidates must abide by the following :

  • Register yourself for the GUJCET exam.
  • Fill all the required personal and academic details.
  • Enter the personal, academic details and upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Signature and Photograph.
  • On completion of the entrance examination, a merit list is released, offering a one-time option for admission to the high merit students.
  • Candidates must be physically present for the counseling and admission on the date stipulated by the university, failing which the seat will be offered to the next highest merit on the list.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must fulfill the following criteria to be deemed eligible by the university.
  • Candidates should have passed their UG degree from a relevant branch from any recognized university.

Selection Criteria

  • The selection process includes a written test conducted by the university, as well as other components which will be dealt with through the application form.
  • Written test is organized in the month of July, which consists of a 150 mark paper that is divided into two sections, one of which is common to all, and the other which is subject specific. The total duration of the examination is three and a half hours, with a half an hour break given between sections.

College may offer a scholarship to a worthy candidate under the following categories. College / University Merit Scholarships. Students belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) may ask for fee concession (*depends on the college administrations).
