NIT Raipur is a public technical and research university located in Raipur, India. It is the fourth Indian technical institute established to impart education in mineral and mining engineering. NIT Raipur has been ranked 64 in the NIRF 2021 engineering category. The institute is also awarded “Avant-grade” in the field of science and technology. NIT Raipur offers UG, PG, and PhD degrees in the Engineering, Technology, Basic Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The degree program offered includes 12 UG, 11 PG, and 18 PhD programs. Amongst all, BTech is the flagship program of the institute offered in 22 specialisations. Candidates seeking admission to the NIT Raipur BTech program must qualify for the JEE Main entrance exam scoring a rank between 8500-78200. Students pursuing various courses at NIT Raipur experience a good campus life. The institute has a well-organised and magnificent building covering 110 acres of area. NIT Raipur campus area is spread over 62060 square metres covering 35 lecture halls, 13 drawing halls/ studios, and 85 labs. Apart from this, NIT Raipur is also famous for its 26 global MoUs for student exchange and research programs. In 2021, the institute collaborated with MSME Technology Centre for certificate courses and long term training programs for student and faculty skill development.

NIT Raipur Courses
NIT Raipur offers a total of 41 courses at the UG, PG, and doctorate levels in the field of engineering, technology, sciences, humanities, and social sciences. At the UG Level, the institute offers BTech and BArch programs for the duration of 4 and 5 years respectively. Admission to both the programs is based on JEE Main scores and JoSAA counselling. NIT Raipur BTech program has been ranked 64 in the NIRF 2021 rankings for the Engineering category. The program has a maximum seat intake of 1118 and is specialised in 22 disciplines. Also, NIT Raipur provides placements assistance to its BTech graduates. Scholarship
NIT Raipur offers scholarships to its needy students on the merit cum means basis to lessen their financial burden and promote quality education among the meritorious students of the institute. The scholarship is only offered to the students pursuing any of the NIT Raipur professional degree courses after cracking the national level entrance examinations. However, the basic eligibility/requirements for the NIT Raipur Scholarship are mentioned below.
- Students who haven't appeared in any of the entrance examinations for admission to NIT should have scored a minimum of 50% or above marks in their 10+2.
- The annual parental income of the candidate from all the sources should not exceed INR 2.5 lakhs.
- As a Scholarship award, the students receive financial support of INR 30,000 for hostellers and INR 25,000 for non-hostellers.
- However, the performance of a student in his/her 1st year will ensure getting the scholarship for next year.
Apart from the merit cum means based scholarships, students of NIT Raipur can also apply for various scholarship schemes at the National Scholarship Portal and avail of the facility of national scholarships allotted to the NITs.
