North Maharashtra University (NMU) is a teaching cum affiliating university in Maharashtra. NMU and its 220 affiliated colleges offer higher education in the fields of Arts, Management, Education, Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, Commerce and Agriculture. 

Admission to the UG courses is granted on the basis of merit achieved by the students in the 10+2 level examination. However, for the B.Tech. course the university accepts valid MHT CET scores only. NMU grants admission to PG courses on the basis of national level entrance exams scores such as GATE, CAT, MAT, MAH MCA CET. 

NMU has been accredited by NAAC with an 'A' grade and a CGPA score of 3.11 on a 4 point scale. Besides, NAAC has also honoured NMU with a prestigious 4 star status. The campus of NMU is spread across a vast area of 660 acres that includes 2 lakh trees, library, hostel for boys and girls, sports complex, laboratories, cafeteria, gym, medical facilities, plant tissue culture lab, shuttle service, auditorium, bank, post office, audio visual hall, convocation Auditorium, day care centre etc. 

The university provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships to the needy and meritorious students. It also provides research fellowships so that students can continue their studies without any financial hassels. 

The training and placement cell of the university provides students with various placement opportunities. The university invited several multinational companies for the placement drives. Some major recruiters are Paramatrix and Aurus INC.

According to the surveys conducted by Unirank in 2021, NMU has achieved 161st rank among Indian Universities whereas 5917th rank among the universities of the world.

NMU has been placed at 15th position among the universities of Maharashtra and at 1715th position among the universities of Asia in 2021 by Edurank.

NMU Courses and Fees

NMU offers UG & PG courses with a wide variety of specialisations to the students. The admissions to the various UG courses are offered on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University whereas for PG courses MA & M.Sc. courses, the candidates have to qualify the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). NMU Admission Process 

Candidates seeking admission to NMU can register online through the official website and submit the required application form along with the application fee. The necessary steps to follow during the application process are given below:

Upload all the requisite documents as mentioned in the form.

Pay the application fee of INR 300 through challan of Central Bank of India (CBI).

The placement percentage of NMU is quite good, almost 75% students were offered with the highest salary package of INR 6 LPA whereas the lowest package was INR 2 LPA in 2021.

NMU Scholarships

NMU provides several scholarships as financial assistance to the needy and meritorious students so that they can continue their studies smoothly. Mentioned below are the different scholarship programmes: 

Postgraduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for single child: This scholarship is offered to the only one girl child of the family. 

Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship: This fellowship is offered to the students of SC /ST categories, who are on their way to pursue M.Phil. & Ph.D. degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering and Technology.

NMU Facilities

Gymnasium: The NMU has a well developed and furnished gymnasium. The gymnasium consists of 12 sections, wrist Conditioner, Vertical Leg Press, Standing Leg Squat, Pumping Cycle, Exercise Cycle With rowing Action, Pulling, Twister, Roman Chair, Hyperextension, Bench Press cum Shoulder Press, high pulling, dipping hip flexor etc. The facility of constructor is also provided in the gymnasium.

Sports: the university also provides sports facilities in indoor and outdoor stadiums. The games which are played include an 8 lane running track with hockey and football ground, Kabaddi ground, kho kho grounds, basketball, volleyball, tennis court, ball badminton. 

Library: The well maintained central library of NMU has a collection of various books, journals and periodicals on different subjects. There are also 4000+ E journals available. Besides this, the university has almost 8,700 prestigious high impact research journals in the world.

Admission to UG courses like B.Tech, BCA, BBA, BMS, BBM, and PG courses like M.Tech, MSW, M.Ed is done based on merit secured in MHT-CET. Admission to B.Sc, M.Sc, BA, MA is purely merit-based. The university allows admission to MBA based on merit secured in MAH MBA CET. Admission to MCA will be made through the MAH MCA CET score. Admission to M.Ed is done through a merit score in MAH M.Ed CET. The university allows admission to M.Phil is done based on an entrance examination followed by an interview conducted by the university. The university grants admission to Ph.D. courses through Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) followed by an interview conducted by NMU. NET/ JRF/ SET qualified candidates are exempted from the written test but they have to take the interview.

NMU M.Tech Admission 2022

NMU offers M.Tech with various specializations at the postgraduate level with a duration of 2 years. The basic eligibility for getting admission into M.Tech is Graduation and candidates are selected on the basis of merit in an entrance examination.
