The University offers Bachelor’s degree programmes (in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry) of four-year duration through the semester system. The University admits students to UG programmes through Pre-Agriculture Test (PAT), a MP State level unified entrance test, conducted by the Professional Examination Board (VYAPAM), Bhopal.
Candidates selected through the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) entry test are admitted over and above the prescribed seats from time to time. An overview of the number of seats and the criteria of eligibility for admission to these programmes is given below:

JNKVV PG Admission 2022
A joint online entrance examination is organized every year for admission to PG and doctoral programmes of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (RVSKVV), Gwalior, and Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur. Some crucial facts regarding the process of admission are mentioned below:
- The common merit list is based on the results of the entrance test and the students are admitted to various Master’s and Ph.D. degree programmes available at JNKVV and RVSKVV, as per common merit and seat availability in different disciplines.
- The candidates who qualify for online counselling are considered for allocation of the subject and the agricultural university or college as per counselling procedure.
- There is no direct nomination or admission to any Master’s or Ph.D. degree programme without qualifying the entrance examination.
- Candidates of JNKVV and RVSKVV are given priority and called for the first counselling. Candidates of other universities are considered for second counselling only if the seats remain vacant after the first one.
- The minimum qualifying marks in the entrance examination is 40% for unreserved & OBC categories, and 30% for SC & ST category candidates.
- The online examination features one question paper for each of the major subjects, containing a 100 MCQs, each with four options.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
- The Online examination centres include Jabalpur, Rewa, Bhopal, Indore & Gwalior. Students are required to exercise three preferences for the centre of examination. The centre of examination is allotted by MP Online Limited, Bhopal as per available facilities & procedure.
Students can check their result through MP online portal. The University provides two broad kinds of courses:
- Non-engineering PG and research courses that are furnished by the Faculty of Agriculture
- Engineering PG and research courses that are furnished by the Faculty of Agriculture Engineering
