Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV), Akola was established in 1969. It offers programs dedicated to agrarian sciences. PDKV Akola Admissions
Admissions to the UG courses are on the basis of merit in the previous examination. However, admission to the PG courses and the Ph.D. course is on the basis of the Common Entrance Test conducted by Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB), Pune. Some of the seats of each course are filled through the Common Entrance Examination to be conducted by I.C.A.R., New Delhi.

PDKV Akola Facilities
Some of the facilities provided by the college include:
Hostel: The college has separate accommodation facilities for boys and girls, each with 41 rooms, accommodating 82 students. Additional facilities include TV, recreation hall, separate mess building, volleyball ground, etc.
Library: The library houses more than 1.57 lakh books and other reading materials, in addition to 255 journals of agricultural, technical, and allied science interest. It also houses special interest collections and rare books.
Co-Curricular Activities: The College has many sports and physical education facilities. These include a gymnasium, a table tennis board, and a volleyball ground.
Educational Tours: Educational tours for B.Sc. (Agri.) students are arranged every year. The educational tours aim to provide a platform for the students to get acquainted with the practical knowledge and aspects of agriculture and allied sectors in other parts of the country.

The University is entrusted with the responsibility of agricultural education, research and extension education along with breeder and foundation seed program. Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth offers Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees at UG, PG and Doctoral levels respectively in the fields of Agricultural Sciences and Agricultural Engineering & Technology.
Admission to all the undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate degree program are conducted by Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER), Pune.

At undergraduate level, Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth offers B.Tech programme specializing in the field of Agriculture to the aspiring students. The duration period for the B.Tech programme is four years.
In order to seek admission to the B.Tech programme, candidates need to pass 10+2 from
Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
Admission to the B.Tech programme is done on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying examination.
15% of the total seats shall be reserved to be filled in from all India basis through Common Entrance Examination to be conducted by ICAR, New Delhi (It includes 10% seats over and above the sanctioned intake capacity). A general merit list will be prepared based on merit of the candidates in the common entrance examination.

At undergraduate level, Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth offers courses in the fields of Agriculture, Forestry, Food Technology etc., with a number of specialization subjects. All of these specialization courses are offered with the duration of four years.
In order to get admission to the UG courses, candidates need to pass in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Admission to the UG courses are done on the basis of Merit in the pre-qualifying examination.

At postgraduate level, PDKV offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree in the field of Agriculture, Farm Technology, Renewable Energy Sources etc., to the aspiring candidates. The duration of the M. Tech. course is two years for regular students.
To get admission in the M.Tech programme, candidates need to hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized institute.
Admission to the M.Tech programme is done through Common Entrance Test (CET) which is conducted by the Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB), Pune. In order to get admission candidates need to sit for the CET and pass the examination with minimum 5.5 CGPA.
