Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJM), formally known as Kanpur University, is a state university located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. CSJMU is recognised by the UGC and accredited with a ‘B’ grade by the NAAC. CSJM University has 952 affiliated colleges and a campus of 264 acres. CSJM was established in 1966 when Agra University split into Agra and Kanpur universities.

The current President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind is one of the notable alumni of CSJM.

The residential wing of the CSJM campus includes faculties of Life Sciences, Business Management, Education, and English.

CSJM also has a department of Adult and Continuing Education, Communication, and a College Development Council.

CSJM has recently started an Institute of Engineering and Technology on the campus to offer engineering courses.

CSJM Admission

CSJM admission to all the courses is conducted through online mode. CSJM University conducts an entrance test for admission to most of the UG and PG courses. The university also accepts scores of national-level examinations for admission to various courses. 

B.Tech., B.Pharm., D.Pharm. and M.Pharm. admissions are granted on the basis of a valid score in UPCET (UPSEE) conducted by AKTU. Check UPCET Cut off

MBBS and BDS admission is based on a valid score in NEET UG followed by university-based counseling.

Admission to MD and MS in Clinical & Basic Science is based on a valid score in NEET PG while DM, M.Ch admission is based on NEET SS score.

MBA and MCA admission is also based on a valid score in UPCET (UPSEE) followed by counseling.

Securing admission in BUMS, BAMS, MD, and MS in Ayurved & Unani is based on AYUSH Entrance Test.

For Admissions to MBA programs, candidates will have to qualify for the UPCET-MBA entrance exam.

CSJM Result

CSJM conducts regular exams usually in the month of February every year. Results for the same are announced in in the second week of May. CSJMU also provides the option of revaluation of answer keys. Students who are not satisfied with the marks obtained in the exam can apply for the revaluation process by paying the required fees. CSJMU results can be checked and downloaded by visiting the official website of the university.

CSJM Facilities

Campus: The campus is spread across 264 acres. The residential wing of the campus includes faculties of Life Sciences, Business Management, Education, and English. There is a separate hostel, academic and administrative blocks.

Canteen: A spacious canteen runs on the CSJMU campus for supplying hygienic food at an affordable rate to the students and the staff.

Hostel: CSJMU provides a boys hostel with a capacity of 400 inmates and girls’ hostels with a total capacity of 500 inmates. All the hostels have mess facilities at moderate rates, 24-hour power supply, common hall, TV room, reading rooms, telephone, recreational and sports facilities with a tight security system. Library: CSJMU library has its computer subnet with the most modern Cat-6 network technology. It is connected with the campus LAN using an optical fiber network. The library automation is being done using SOUL Software. So far it has completed its database of about 60,000 books, 3000 theses, which are available online through its web OPAC. It also has an Online access facility to about 20,000 full-text journals and about 5000 full-text books on its University LAN.

Sports Facilities/ Outdoor Games: A huge stadium has been constructed on the CSJMU campus. It is used for sports activities like, 400-meter race, hammer throw, long jump, high jump, cricket tournament, football, hockey, basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, kabaddi, kho-kho, etc. The stadium is open for sports activities for students, teachers, officers, and employees of the University and students of affiliated colleges of the University.

Cafeteria: The CSJMU cafeteria has a lot of goodies to offer at affordable prices. Open 6 days a week, the cafeteria is a place where students celebrate their birthday and give treats.

For applying into any of the above mentioned UG programs, the minimum eligibility is qualifying the 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized Board. The minimum marks criteria will vary based on the choice of subject.

For B.Sc. Aviation candidates must qualify their 10+2 level exam from a recognized board with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Direct admission will be given to the students with Private Pilots License (PPL) with 60 hours of flying of which 30 hours would be solo hours or, .

Candidates applying for B.PEd. programme in CSJMU must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks and at least participation in Inter College/Inter Regional/District/ School Sport Competitions recognized by A.I.U/I.O.A/S.G.F/Government of India or,

For M.Sc and M.Pharm admission in CSJMU the minimum eligibility criteria is a B.Sc and B.Pharm degree from a recognized university.

Selection to M.Sc. in CSJMU is based on merit obtained in the qualifying exam.

For Integrated M.Sc. and M.Com courses candidates need to appear in the University Entrance Exam in order to be shortlisted. 

Admission to M.Pharm. is done on the basis of UPSEE score.

To secure admission in MA, LLM, Master of Extension & Rural Development, M.P.Ed., MSW, M.Ed., M.Lib. & I.Sc., M.Ed., MFA, and MPT a valid score in Online Entrance Test followed by Counselling conducted by CSJMU is required.

Candidates must have a valid score in the UPSEE exam for securing admission in MCA course.

CSJM MD, MS, DM And M.Ch Eligibility

For MD (Clinical & Basic Science) and MS (Clinical & Basic Science) an MBBS Degree from any recognized university is required as a minimum eligibility.

Candidates applying for DM and M.Ch the eligibility criteria is an MD/DNB or, MS/DNB in the relevant discipline.

For MD (Ayurveda) candidates must qualify BAMS with 50% marks in aggregate and for MD (Unani) and MS (Unani) they must have a BUMS degree from a recognized university.

Aspirants applying for MS (Ayurveda) the eligibility criteria includes a Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery with 12 months of rotating internship. Candidates with an MBBS degree may also apply for the course.

For DM and M.Ch. programmes, the selection process is based on valid NEET SS scores followed by counselling.

Selection criteria for MD (Ayurveda), MD (Unani), MS (Ayurveda) and MS (Unani) is done on the basis of a valid score in the AYUSH entrance test.

CSJM Diploma And PG Diploma Eligibility

A pass in 10+2 is the minimum eligibility for Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs.

Bachelor’s degree is required for PG Diploma programs.

Candidates need to have a Master’s degree to apply for Advance PG Diploma and Post Master Diploma.

CSJM Diploma And PG Diploma Selection Criteria

Selection is based on the Entrance Test conducted by CSJMU. For courses like PG Diploma, Advance PG Diploma and Post Master Diploma, the university may also conduct a counselling round.

For Diploma in Food Production, selection is based on JEE offered by National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) on all India 31 Admission cell basis or through State Entrance Examination (SEE) conducted by U.P. Technical University Lucknow or from the list of successful candidates of a state-level Entrance Test conducted by CSJM University, Kanpur.

How to Apply for CSJM?

Candidates can register themselves by filling the application form available on the official website of CSJMU. Follow the below-mentioned steps to apply online:

Visit the official website of CSJMU.

Click on the ‘Online Application’ link.

Fill the application form and upload the required documents such as photograph and mark sheets.

Pay the application fee of INR 600 (INR 400 for SC/ST categories) by Credit/ Debit Card/ Net-Banking or Challan.

Click on ‘Submit’ and take the printout of duly filled application form for future reference.

UPSEE Registrations can be done through the official examination portal of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. 

Candidates can check the UPSEE- Cut-off to ensure their seat in the counselling process for admission to B.Tech, B.Pharm, MBA and MCA courses offered by Kanpur University (CSJM).
