Assam University is a central university with ‘Grade B’ accreditation from NAAC and approval from UGC. Assam University Application Process 2022

Assam University, Silchar conducts entrance examinations to shortlist eligible students. For a few courses qualifying scores obtained in the national level are also accepted by the university. The university offers an application process in online mode. To get done the procedure students should follow the below steps:

Visit the official website of the university.
Register by filling in the personal details then upload a scanned passport size photograph.
After registration, fill the application form with asked details.
The application fee should be paid with INR 500 (INR 300 for SC/ ST/ and PwD).
Click on the “Submit” button to finally submit the application form.
After submission of the application form, an acceptance message will be sent to the registered email id.
Candidates can apply for a maximum of two courses only and a separate application has to be submitted for each course.

Assam University Placement

A career counseling & placement cell is provided by Assam University. The cell’s activities include the organization of workshops and lectures by corporate professionals and placement consultants and the preparation of students’ resumes / bio-data / curriculum vitae and placement brochures. The Placement Cells in the various departments of the University are currently engaged in developing a detailed Employer’s Database that would help the students to trace out employment opportunities in India and abroad. The average CTC was offered at INR 8 LPA & the highest was offered at INR 26 LPA.

Assam University Facilities

Library: Assam University has a central library with a collection of books over 1,27,000. It has also subscriptions to more than 1,100 print plus online journals. Moreover, the facility of more than 10,000 Electronic resources is also available through e-Shodh Sindhu (INFLIBNET), DELNET, & DELCON consortia which can be accessed all over the campus. The library provides all academic library services in an automated environment with the help of Koha Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS). It has a reading room facility with a sitting capacity of 200 and an Internet access lab with 20 nodes.
Games & Sports: Every year an Annual Social Meet is organized in the University where along with cultural activities, indoor and outdoor sports are held. The University is currently a member of the Interuniversity Sports Board of India and its teams participate in Zonal and All-India University Tournaments bringing laurels and prizes and medals for the University. The Central Sports-complex which is in the process of coming up is expected to give a major boost to games and sports and to other extra-curricular activities of the students in Assam University.
Hostel: There are at present nine hostels four for boys and five for girls students on the University campus. The hostels are furnished with basic facilities. Hostel seats are limited and every student may not get a seat in the hostel. Availability of seats depends upon the vacancy in the hostel. A separate Booklet for Hostel borders & conduct Rules of the hostel is also available.

Assam University, Silchar offers B.Tech, BPA, BVA, BA LLB, B.Pharm, B.Voc, Integrated B.Sc. – M.Sc. and Integrated B.Sc. – B.Ed. course at UG level. Assam University was established in 1994 and has two campuses in Silchar and Diphu. The key points related to Assam University Admission are as follows:

Application Process for all the courses offered by the University is online.
For B.Tech, candidate must pass in 10+2 examination with PCM as subjects and minimum 60% marks.
The university also offers B.Tech Lateral entry course for which candidate must pass in Diploma in Engineering.
For 75% of the B.Tech seats, admission is on the basis of JEE Main score and for the rest of the seats, admission is given on the basis of UG entrance test conducted by the department.
For UG courses, candidate must pass in 10+2 examination in relevant stream from recognized university.
For UG and PG courses, admission is done on the basis of entrance test and interview conducted by the university.
For M.Tech, candidate must pass in B.Tech with relevant discipline from recognized university.

Admission to MBA is done on the basis of CAT scores.
Candidates not having CAT score card have to appear for Written Skill Assessment Test (WSAT) conducted by the Management Department.

Assam University B.Tech Admission 2022

At Undergraduate level, Assam University offers four-year B.Tech in three disciplines. The university also offers B.Tech Lateral Entry admission.

For B.Tech, candidate must pass in 10+2 examination with PCM and minimum 60% marks. Minimum eligibility for admission through lateral entry is three-year Diploma Examination from a recognized institution.

Admission to 75% seats is done on the basis of JEE Main score and admission to 25% seats is done on the basis of Entrance Examination conducted by the university. Admission to B.Tech Lateral entry is done on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the university.

Assam University UG Admission 2022:

Assam University offers various courses for its Under-Graduate curriculum. The courses offered by Assam University include Bachelor of Visual Arts, Bachelor of Performing Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts with specific reference to the law, Bachelor of Pharmacy, and Bachelor of Social work. These courses are of 3 to 4 years of duration having 40%-50% in 10+2 or equivalent as minimum eligibility criteria. Assam University UG selection criteria

Admission to Assam University for its various UG courses will be done on the basis of scores obtained in CUET. The aspiring candidates who meet the university’s eligibility criteria and cut-off will be called for further rounds of selection that include counselling and in some courses Interview. After the display of the CUET result, candidates will have to enrol for counselling rounds.

CUET Exam has three sections-

Section I – this section is further divided into Section IA and Section IB. candidates will have to select any one language from a set of 13 different languages in Section IA while one language from a set of 20 languages has to be selected from Section IB.
Section II – Section II is a domainspecific section wherein candidates will have to select a maximum of 6 domains from a list of 27 domains. Candidates should choose the domains after careful consideration as these will be the deciding factor for the choice of their university.
Section III It is a general test where candidates will be tested on the basis of basic general questions such as General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning

Assam University will be undertaking scores of CUET scores for its UG Admissions. Candidates will first have to go through the CUET procedure until the declaration of its result and then will have to fill the application form of Assam University via counselling rounds.

Assam University M.Tech Admission 2022

At the postgraduate level, AU offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree course of two years duration in three specializations.

To be considered eligible for admission to M.Tech course, candidates should have passed BE/B.Tech our equivalent degree course with at least 55% marks.

Admission is done on the basis of CUCET entrance examination. However, GATE qualified candidates are given preference.

Assam University MBA Admission 2022

Assam University offers a two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program under two specializations i.e. General and Hospitality & Tourism Management. For admission to MBA course, the candidate should have passed graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized institute with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA OR candidate should have a graduate degree in any discipline along with minimum 60% aggregate in CAT examination.

For MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management, the candidate must possess UG degree in any discipline with minimum 55% marks OR candidates applying must have a graduate degree with minimum 55 percentile in CAT. Candidates who do not have valid CAT score will have to appear for an entrance exam conducted by the Department. Candidates who pass the written test and those shortlisted on the basis of CAT scores will be called for GD and interview.

Final selection will be based on composite scores which include Past academic records (30% weightage in merit list), CAT / Written test scores (20% weightage), GD Scores (20% weightage); and PI Scores (30% weightage).

Minimum eligibility for MA is passed in BA degree in relevant discipline. For M.Sc., candidate must pass in B.Sc. degree in relevant discipline. Key Points:

Duration of entrance is of one hour and of 50 marks and the exam is of objective type. The interview is of 25 marks.
For final admission the weight age of marks allocated to qualifying exam, Written Test and Interview is 25:30:25 respectively.
Candidates who have passed the graduation degree from any institute affiliated to Assam University, the weight age for qualifying exam is 30% marks.
