Saurashtra University has multiple departments offering several courses at UG, PG and Doctoral levels. All the courses are offered in diverse disciplines. It has 29 postgraduate departments and 238 affiliated colleges. Candidates seeking admission to any of the courses, need to appear for certain entrance exams. The university also grants admission on the basis of merit and for some courses the university itself conducts entrance exams. For the rest of the courses, few national level entrance exams like NEET PG, GCET are accepted by the university.

Saurashtra University is State University, accredited Grade 'A' by NAAC. It is one of the pioneering universities in Gujarat. It was established in 1967, after the Saurashtra University Act was passed by the Legislative Assembly of Gujarat in 1965. With the leadership & guidance of all the dynamic, highly qualified faculty members the university has bagged 71st ranking by QS World ranking 2020. The university is approved by UGC.

Saurashtra University has a Placement & Training Cell which works efficiently so that the students of the university get placed in the top-notch companies. The cell prepares the students with all the required knowledge and skills to face the corporate world. The Training & Placement Cell acts as a bridge between the university & various industries to organize the placement drives. 

The university arranges a placement fair every year. Various Departments of the University arrange central placement activity through the Training & Placement Cell for the student's benefits. Library: The library of the university was started in 1967. The central library has a good stock of books, periodicals along with e-journals. There are a total number of 4600 e-journals. It functions with a collection of over 216130 books. 

Hostel: Saurashtra University has 3 boys and 4 girls hostels with all the basic amenities such as wifi connection, dining hall, sports equipment etc. The accommodation facility of the university is quite impressive in affordable price. Hostel charges INR 2000. 

Sports Complex: The university has a sports complex which is Sardar Patel Sports Complex. The sports complex is well equipped with all required equipment. This complex is published by the university's Physical Education Department.

Saurashtra University offers UG, PG and doctorate courses to more than 2000 students in the fields of Arts, Commerce, Law, Management and Science. Admission to the UG and PG programmes of Saurashtra University are granted either on the basis of merit or entrance exam scores. Admission to the B.Li.Sc. & B.Ed. is granted based on merit secured in the last qualifying examination and through Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Saurashtra University PG Eligibility Criteria

For M.Sc., the candidate must have completed a bachelor's degree in the relevant specialisation with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.

For M.B.A., the candidate must have completed a bachelor's degree in the relevant specialisation from a recognised University and he or she must be eligible for GCET or CMAT examination.
