Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Itanagar was established in the year of 1984 in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. RJU was formerly known as Arunachal University. The University is located at top Rono Hills and campus is spread in 302 acres in land. It is 6.5 km away from the National Highway 52-A and 25 km away from Itanagar, the State capital. The campus is linked with the National Highway by a Dikrong bridge. In the year of 2007, the university converted into a central university as per the notification of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.

RGU Itanagar Courses

RGU Itanagar provides various courses under different programmes. It offers Graduation, Post graduation, PhD, Diploma in many courses. Some of them with their eligibilities are given below:

BCA	10+2 with Math/Statistics as a compulsory subject or 3 years diploma in Technology or engineering.
B.Ed.	Applicants with M.A./M.Sc./M.Com/B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Tech (with Mathematics)/ BE (with Mathematics) degree (10+2+3) from RGU Itanagar or any other recognized university with 50% marks in graduation is eligible for admission.
M.A	Applicants with graduation degree under 10+2+3 pattern from RGU or UGC recognized university. Applicant must have minimum 45% marks in Major/Honours or 50% in Pass course in the concerned discipline or as one of the elective subjects. [Candidates holding the degree in Social Science or Science can apply for the courses of Mass Communication, Sociology and Anthropology.
MBA, M.Sc., MCA	The candidate required to give entrance test RGUCET
M.Ed.	Applicants with B.Ed. degree from RGU or any other UGC recognized university with minimum 55% marks is eligible to apply for the course.
M.Tech.(CS and Engineering)	Candidate must require B.Tech or B.E or M.Sc in CS/IT or MCA from a recognized institution.
M.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering)	Candidate must require B.Tech or Electronics Engineering or M.Sc. in Electronics or IETE or AMIETE graduate.

Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), earlier known as Arunachal University is the oldest university in the state. It offers postgraduate courses in more than 39 disciplines along with M.Phil, Ph.D and PG Diploma programs. There are 35 colleges affiliated to the university that are spread across the entire state. Rajiv Gandhi University reserves 60% seats for all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for ST candidates. 9% seats for OBC (Non-creamy layer), 3% for SC, 3% for differently abled and 5% for wards of Ex-servicemen candidates. Left 20% seats are open for other category candidates.

Rajiv Gandhi University UG Admission 2022

Rajiv Gandhi University offers BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BFA, BCA, B.Music, and BALLB at the UG level. BA and B.Sc are offered in multiple streams. The duration of these courses is 3 years while BALLB is offered for a duration of 5 years. Candidates must have the minimum eligibility of class 12 (arts/commerce/ Science) stream from any recognized Board. Admission to these courses will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Selection Process

The selection of Candidates for UG courses at RGU will be done on the basis of marks obtained in CUET 2022 and the merit list prepared based on it.

Candidates applying for the BCA course will be selected on the basis of merit.
Candidates applying for B.Sc in Geology will be given admission on the basis of CUET/RGUCET results.
The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/OBC categories will be selected based on the norms of the Government of India

Candidates seeking admission to UG courses at RGU are required to apply for CUET on its official website. The detailed instruction for the filling up of the online application is given below:

Candidates need to register themselves with a valid Email-ID & Phone number.
Candidates must generate a password & Application Number.
After successful Registration, candidates must upload Photograph (10Kb-200Kb) and Signature (4Kb-30Kb) along with educational documents.
Candidates must also upload scanned copies of the Category Certificate and PWD Certificate (if needed)
Candidates must properly check the application form before submitting it
Candidates must pay the application fee through online mode only

RGU MA. M.Com & M.Sc Admission 2022

The M.A course is available in a number of specializations such as Anthropology, Economics, Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Mass Communication, Political Science, Sociology and Tribal Studies. In case of M.Sc there are specializations like Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computing, Physics and Zoology.

RGU Admission B.Ed, M.Ed Admission 2022

B.Ed program is of two years duration covered in four semesters. The admission is based on merit with 30 seats reserved for deputed teachers, 35 seats for direct admission and remaining 35 seats for paid admission.

M.Ed programme is of two years covered in four semesters. Out of 20 seats 10 seats are for paid admission and remaining 10 seats for direct admission. The admission is purely on merit basis.

RGU BCA, MCA, M.Tech, MBA & MSW Admission 2022

BCA and MCA are three years courses covered in six semesters while M.Tech, MBA and MSW are of two years duration with four semesters each. For admission to M.Tech program, candidates with valid GATE score are given preference.

In case of M.Tech in Electronics and Computer Engineering AIMETE and IETE graduates can also apply. The MBA and MSW applicants have to appear for a written test followed by personal interview. Applicants have to appear for a round of group discussion in case of MSW programme.

RGU M.Phil & Ph.D Admission 2022

RGU offers M.Phil & Ph.D program in Anthropology, Hindi, Economics, Political Science, Tribal Science, Mass Communication, History, Geography, Commerce, Botany and Zoology. Admission is based on the score of RGUMPET followed by Personal Interview. UGC/CSIR-JRF holders are exempted from the entrance test and have to appear for the personal interview only.

M.Phil students from RGU or any other UGC recognized university are also exempted from the test. Ph.D scholars of the university are directly eligible for UGC (non-NET) Fellowship.
The seats available for Ph.D program are dynamic in nature and differ every year. However, of the total seats 25% seats are for M.Phil students form RGU or any other UGC recognized university, 25% seats are reserved for JRF holders and remaining 50% for candidates applying through entrance test.

Application forms can be acquired and submitted in four ways as discussed below:

Purchase the prospectus with application form from RGU campus and submit the duly filled application form in person.
Download the prospectus by visiting the official website & submit the duly filled application form in University campus.
Pay the application fee online through net banking/credit or debit card.
Apply online with documents and pay application fee via DD or challan.
