Pondicherry University is a collegiate public central university located in Kalapet in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. Pondicherry University Scholarships
The Pondicherry University provides merit scholarships to the first three topper students who secure the highest marks in the PG entrance exam. The students are awarded 2000, 1500 and 1000 per month respectively.
Merit-Cum-Means scholarship is provided to 20% students of each P.G. degree. The basis of the MCM scholarship is both merit and the income of the parents do not exceed 2,50,000.

Pondicherry University Facilities
Hostels: The University has both boys and girls hostels. There are 14 boys hostels and 8 girls hostels and two other hostels for foreign students transit purposes. Hostel for foreign students has a seating capacity of 30 students. Physically challenged students and girls students are given rent free accommodation in the hostels.
Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF): Under this facility students are provided with fabrication of components, repairing and servicing of scientific equipment. The CIF comprises three shops: mechanical shop, glass blowing shop and electrical shop.
Library: The Rangapillai Library has the collection of 2,23,802 printed books, 2,17,848 electronic books and 779 theses etc.The university has the online facilities such as Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) which is available for 24 hours and 7 days a week.
