IIT BHU is one of the oldest technical institutes in Varanasi, India. In the NIRF ranking 2022, IIT BHU is placed at 29 in the Overall and 13 in the Engineering Category. IIT BHU is also known for its TPO/TPC. TPC IIT BHU is the Training and Placement Cell of the institute. IIT BHU BTech is ranked 13 by the NIRF 2022 rankings. The program is specialized in 10 streams. The BTech program has a total of 902 seats including 59 seats of Supernumerary (Female only). The institute has also added a Chemical Engineering specialization in the IIT BHU BTech courses. Admission to the branch requires a JEE Advanced rank of 5218-7791.
Apart from this, the institute also allows branch change options for the BTech students. Candidates applying for a branch change must fill out the application forms released by the institute at the beginning of 2nd and 3rd semesters. IIT BHU B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have passed 10+2 in science stream with minimum 75% marks to be eligible for IIT BHU admission in B.Tech. SC/ST candidates must have scored 65% in 1+2. Alternatively, candidates in the top 20 percentile in class 12 can also apply for B.Tech admission.

IIT BHU does the final selection through JOSAA Counselling based on the rank obtained in JEE Advanced. Only registered candidates can participate in the JOSAA Counselling process.

JEE Main Qualifying Cutoff
B.Tech admissions in IITs is based on JEE Advanced exam scores. Candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in the JEE Main examination are eligible to appear for the respected examination. The minimum qualifying marks for Unreserved category (General category) is set for 87.992241 and the maximum mark is 100. Those who have secured the minimum cutoff marks and are ranked under 2.5 lakh can appear for JEE Advanced 2021

IIT BHU M.Tech Admission 2022
At postgraduate level, the very well known course of IIT BHU is M.Tech. It is offered in 40 different specializations. The IIT BHU M.Tech admission is based on merit and GATE score followed by written test or interview.
To participate in the IIT BHU seat allocation process, candidates have to register for the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Only COAP registered candidates can participate in IIT BHU admission in M.Tech.
IIT BHU M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for IIT BHU M.Tech admission candidates must have a B.Tech degree in relevant specialization. Minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.0 on 10 point scale should be scored in qualifying degree. For SC/ST candidates 55% marks or CGPA 5.0 is required.
Candidates who have done graduation from IIT itself and have CGPA above 8.0 do not require GATE score and will be offered IIT BHU admission on the basis of merit and interview only. For non-IIT graduates having a valid GATE score is a must.
IIT BHU M.Tech Selection Criteria
The selection process is divided into two stages.
Stage 1: Candidates are first selected based on merit and GATE score.
Stage 2: These selected candidates have to appear for a written test/ interview.
In the IIT BHU selection process 70% weightage is given to GATE score and rest 30% to interview.

IIT BHU offers a two-year-long M.Sc program in two specializations, namely, Physics and Chemistry. Admissions into the program are offered on the basis of scores obtained in the IIT JAM entrance examination.

The eligibility criteria for admissions to the four different categories of IIT BHU Ph.D course is as follows:

IIT BHU Ph.D Selection Criteria
IIT BHU shortlists candidates on the basis of valid GATE/NET/GPAT/CSIR NET or UGC NET JRF score.
These shortlisted candidates are then called for a written test followed by an interview.
Candidates qualifying CSIR NET/UGC NET JRF are offered IIT BHU admission through an interview on the same date of application.
Following candidates are exempted from written test: Sponsored Registration, Full time External Registration, Part-time registration and candidates with National Level Scholarships.
IIT BHU Ph.D Admission: How to Apply?
Visit the IIT BHU admission portal and click on “Apply Online” tab
Register by entering a valid email address and create a password of eight-character length.
After successful registration, candidates will be mail teh login credentials
Click on “Login” link to Open the Login page
Fill the application form and attach all the required documents
Pay online application fee via credit card/debit card/ netbanking
After filling all fields, you must “Save” the data and “Preview” the application form before proceeding to the final submission.
After successful submission of your application, you will find the “Download” link to download the PDF version of your final application.
Further, acknowledgement will be sent on provided email ID.
