Cotton University was established in the year 2017. It is a popular Public State University in Guwahati, Assam. This University was previously established in 1901 by Sir Henry Cotton. This University is UGC recognized and accredited by NAAC with grade ‘A’.

Cotton University Scholarships
Cotton University provides some scholarship programmes to its candidates. Income certificate of the student’s family is a must for availing these scholarships along with other required documents.
Post-Matric Scholarship (to students of Assam) - It is a scholarship scheme that is given to the students of Scheduled Caste students who are studying post-secondary classes to help them to complete their education. This scheme is centrally sponsored scheme and is implemented through State Government & UT admissions.
For SC/ST students, Postgraduate scholarships are given to students choosing various professional courses. The Students belonging to these backgrounds are given the opportunity to study PG courses in professional subjects like Engineering & Technology/Pharmacy/Management, etc. from the Indian Colleges or Universities.
Single Girl Child can avail PG Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship. This Scheme is a UGC scholarship Scheme that is introduced to empower the education of girl children. This scheme compensates for the education of a single girl child who is pursuing higher education. Under this scheme, an amount up to INR 36,200 per annum is provided as financial assistance.
Cotton University was established in the year 2017 in Assam. The Cotton College came into existence almost 116 years ago but it got its University status in 2017.
The University functions independently to cater to the growing needs of the education system. There are courses for undergraduates like BA, B.Sc and BCA courses. For graduates, there is an array of PG courses including M.Sc., MA, MCA, and a PhD.
At the UG level, a B.A. is offered with 13 specializations, a B.Sc. in 10 specializations and a BCA for a duration of three years. Admission to the same is granted on the basis of merit.
At the PG level, the university offers an M.Sc. with seven specializations. To be eligible for the same, the candidates must possess a B.Sc. degree with a minimum of 50% marks. The M.A. program is offered under 14 disciplines.
Aside from the above-mentioned programs, the institute also offers an MCA. To be eligible for the MCA program, the candidates must possess a BCA degree with a minimum of 50% marks. The candidates must have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
Admission to the PG courses will be done on the basis of CPGEE.
At the doctoral level, the institute offers a Ph.D. under 24 disciplines. Admission to the program will be done on the basis of an entrance exam.
