​BIT Mesra is a deemed university approved by PCI, AICTE, UGC, and NBA. The institute is placed at 46 by the NIRF in the Engineering category for the year 2021. BIT Mesra is India’s first institute to establish the space engineering and rocketry department. The institute offers 94+ courses through 18 departments.

BIT Mesra Admission 2022 is based on several national-level entrance exams. Admission to the BIT Mesra B.Tech program is done through JEE Main entrance scores. The first phase examination is tentatively scheduled for February 2022. For BIT Mesra M.Tech primary selection, the GATE scores will be considered which is scheduled for February 5-6, & 12-13, 2022. BIT Mesra B.Tech & B.Arch Admission: The second selection list for the special round 2021 has been released for B.Tech & B.Arch. Additionally, the 6th provisional selection list for B.Tech 2021 for EBC/OBC seats of Jharkhand state has been published.

BIT Mesra B.E/ BTech/ B.Arch Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch at BIT Mesra, a candidate should fulfill the minimum requirements. This includes the following:

Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and a minimum aggregate of 60%.

BIT Mesra Hotel Management (BHMCT) Admission 2022

BIT Mesra is currently inviting applications for its Hotel Management course and the last date to submit the application form is June 20, 2021. Once the application form is submitted, the candidate will be required to appear for an entrance examination test which is conducted by the institute. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview round.

BIT Mesra Hotel Management (BHMCT) Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent with English as a compulsory subject and a minimum aggregate of 50%

Students appearing for the 12th exams may also apply for this course. They need to produce their class 12th mark sheet at the time of entrance test and interview and should have scored the required percentage.

BIT Mesra UG Admission 2022

BIT Mesra also offers other courses in its UG programs, namely - B.Sc in Animation and Multimedia, BBA, and BCA. These programs are available in the full-time mode only and in the duration of 3 years comprising 6 semesters (two semesters in each year). 

BIT Mesra UG Eligibility Criteria 

The basic eligibility of all the courses requires a candidate to have completed their 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from any recognized board of education. 

Also, the candidates should have passed their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD).

BIT Mesra M.E/M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

B.E/B.Tech/AMIE/MCA degree in the appropriate discipline for the respective year specialization and a minimum aggregate of 50%.

Candidates must be GATE 2019 / GATE 2020 / GATE 2021 qualified.

Candidates who have not cleared the GATE exam can also apply here. However, their application would be given second preference. The institute considers applications from GATE-qualified students first and only once that is completed, will they consider applications from Non- GATE students.

BIT Mesra PG Admission 2022: M.Sc, MCA, M.UP M.Pharm

BIT Mesra offers M.Sc in various specializations, MCA, M.UP, and M.Pharm courses. 

Admissions into the BIT Mesra M.Sc program are done on the basis of JAM/CUCET scores. 80% weightage would be given to JAM/CUCET marks and 20% to the academic performance. 

For admission into the M.UP program at BIT Mesra, a candidate must have a B.E/B.Tech/AMIE/MCA degree with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of GATE scores fixed by the institute. 80% weightage would be given to GATE scores and 20% to academic performance.

BIT Mesra offers a 4-years long B.Tech program in 10 different specializations. The institute has a total intake capacity of 802 in its B.Tech program. An annual fee of around INR 2.71 lakhs is charged by BIT Mesra for 1st year of the B.Tech program. BIT Mesra MBA 

A 2-years long MBA program is offered by BIT Mesra. The total intake capacity of the MBA program is 60. BIT Mesra charges an annual fee of INR 2.93 for the program. Admission to the program is based on CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT percentile and scores of GD & PI rounds. Candidates are required to score a percentile of 40 and above for admission in the entrance exam. Additionally, they should perform well in the GD and PI as well.

Birla Institute of Technology has announced scholarships worth INR 2.25 crores under its GP Birla BIT Scholarship. Meritorious students taking admission in B.Tech. and B.Arch programs. BIT GP Birla Scholarship is also applicable for M.Tech students who have passed the GATE exam with 90% or more. The scholarship is only applicable for the first semester and further continuation of the scholarship depends on the students' academic performance after assessment by the Scholarship Committee.

The BIT GP Birla Scholarship also extends to students pursuing B.Tech and are selected for Immersive Summer Research Experience (ISRE) at Reputed Foreign Universities. This scholarship, in combination with BIT Mesra Alumni Association 

- North America (BITMAA-NA), and the parents of the students cover the complete expense of ISRE. 

There are two more categories under which students can avail scholarships while taking admission at BIT Mesra. This is BIT GP Birla Assistantship and offered on two grounds- based on Compassionate Grounds and Staff Wards. Scholarships on these grounds are based on academic performance in SP 2020 and family income. The Scholarship Committee decides the enrollment under these two as per the applications received and the funds that are available with the committee.
