Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is ranked 78th among the engineering institutions and among Top-100 business schools by NIRF 2020. SMVDU offers various courses in UG, PG and Doctoral courses, such as BTech, BArch, BA, MA, MSc, MTech, MBA etc. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Faculty of Management has two constituent departments: the School of Business & the School of Economics. School of Business offers PG courses like MBA and five-year Integrated MBA with BBA Honours. The university also offers a five-year Integrated MSc Economics course and PhD in Economics, the faculty of Humanities & Social Science consists of the School of Philosophy & Culture, School of Language & Literature.

Admission in B.Tech courses JEE Main score is required, B.Arch admissions are conducted on the basis of JEE Main/NATA score followed by SMVDU direct counselling/JOSAA/CSBA.MBA admissions are granted on the basis of CAT Score. SMVDU’s 5 years integrated BSc & MSc course candidates need to pass 10+2 level. Students who are seeking admission to MSc, MA and MTech, are needed to pass graduation along with for M.Sc. and M.Tech. they are required to qualify for JUET and GATE entrance exams respectively.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Placement

SMVDU Katra has a training and placement cell that provides excellent facilities that help the graduates get placed in top companies. The cell provides helps to the recruiters for pre-placement discussions, conducting tests & interviews and other assistance from the campus team. According to the report, around 23 recruiters participated in the 2020 placement drive which is the highest number of recruiters to participate compared to the past years. More than 150 students got selected by reputed recruiters. Infosys made the highest number of placement offers. Other recruiters include TCS, ICICI Prudential, Wipro Ltd, ICICI Bank, Ericsson Global, EZMATA Technologies etc.

SMVDU has scholarships for aspirant candidates. But the candidates need to score a CGPA of 7.50 minimum with no backlogs in each semester to avail themselves the scholarships.

For BTech:

Up to 30,000 AIR(CRL) in JEE Main: Full Tuition Fee Waiver for the first 5 semesters.
Above 50,000 & up-to 1,00,000 AIR(CRL) in JEE (Mains): Full Tuition Fee waiver for first 03 semesters.

For MBA:

Above 90% in MAT/CMAT: Full Tuition Fee waiver for I year & 50% Tuition Fee waiver for 2nd Year.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is a state university located in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir. It was established in 1999 and is recognized by UGC.

SMVDU is ranked among Top 100 Engineering Institutions & Top 150 Universities in the Country by NIRF 2018, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. Having 4 Faculties, consisting of 15 Schools that offer 6 Undergraduate, 14 Postgraduate and 08 Integrated Programs besides Ph.D.

Admissions are both entrance and merit-based followed by SMVDU Direct Counselling. Applications for admissions are available online. While entrance applications are available on their respective websites.

Students willing to apply for B.Tech the students must have passed 10+2 with PCM from a recognized board or equivalent. They must also qualify for JEE Mains or SMVDUEE followed by SMVDU Direct Counselling or JOSAA or AIR (CRL).

Admission to B.Arch is based on JEE Main or NATA entrance. They must also have passed 10+2 with PCM and 50%. Counselling is the same as for B.Tech.

For admissions to M.Tech students must qualify the GATE or SMVDUEE exam and have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology with 50% aggregate. Admissions are offered through either CCMT Counselling or SMVDU Direct Counselling

M.Sc. admissions are offered on the basis of scores in the SMVDUEE conducted by the University itself. Based on which a merit list is prepared to offer students admission in their respective choice of subject..

To be eligible for MBA admission, students must appear for the CAT or MAT or CMAT for direct admission or SMVDUEE if not qualified for the national entrances. Qualifying which, the candidate would be called for a group discussion followed by a personal interview.

Ph.D. admissions depend upon either qualifying UGC-NET/JRF/SLET entrance for direct admission. Or appearing for University Entrance shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in the previous examination.
