North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) is a deemed to be a university in Nirjuli place located in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The institute is autonomous and funded by MHRD, Govt. of India. NERIST has been ranked 186 among the top NIRF-rated Engineering colleges in 2021. The institute currently has 11 departments of education in science & engineering and 1 center for management studies to offer degree courses across the disciplines of engineering, technology, sciences, and management. 

NERIST offers 10+2 level certificate courses, post-10+2 diploma courses, and degree programs. The degree programs offered at NERIST include BTech, BSc (Forestry Stream), MTech, MBA, MSc, and PhD programs. Admission to the various courses at NERIST is done through different level entrance exams such as NEE-I, NEE-II. and NEE-III, conducted by the institute itself. Apart from the sets of NEE entrances, the institute also accepts the entrance scores of national-level examinations such as JEE Main. Candidates seeking admission to the NERIST BTech program can expect a JEE Main 2022 cutoff between 28301-65709 for the general category.

The entrance exams that are conducted for various programs by the institute are- NEE (NERIST Entrance Exam). The exam is conducted at three-level for various programs, the exams are- NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III

For the UG courses, the institute is charging INR 39500 for admission fee/ tuition fee/ Misc. fee, etc.
For the PG courses, the fee criteria are INR 54100 for general category students and INR 49270 for reserved category students per annum.
And for the Ph.D. courses, the fee is INR 54110 per annum.
At present, there are almost 130 academic staff in NERIST and more than 1300 students are enrolled across different programs in the institute
The institute is accredited by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Dehradun in 2020 for three years.
Like the other institutes, the NERIST also offers the best job placement to its students. Every year 8 to 12 student gets job placement in various companies
The top companies which come for the campus placement selection are- Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Cognizant, Vedanta, CETPA Infotech, NEEPCO Shillong, Tata Projects, and many more
The institute has recorded an average package of INR 4 to 8 LPA during its placement drives.

NERIST Courses and Fee
Courses offered by NERIST include diploma and UG/PG degrees. The institute is offering degrees in different disciplines to encourage the student to develop excellency in engineering, science, and technology along with humanities and management, and entrepreneurship. NERIST Admission 2022
Admission to the courses at NERIST is based on the NEE Entrance exam conducted by the institute at three different levels. The institute offers admission to the students at the base level i.e. after 10th. Interested candidates can apply to the 2 years Base Module at NERIST after completing their 10th. The institute admits students to its Base Module on the basis of the NEE-I exam. After completing the base module, the students have the option to leave the NERIST with a certificate or continue the Diploma Module/ Polytechnic for 2 years. Admission to the diploma module of NERIST is doen via NEE-II exam. 

For admission to the UG level degree courses, the institute admits students via NEE-III and NEE-II exams. Candidates seeking admission to the NERIST BTech program must take NEE-III for lateral entry or they may directly be admitted through the diploma module to the BTech degree module. Whereas, the candidates seeking admission to the BSc degree module have to qualify for the NEE-II exam after their 10+2 in PCB. Apart from NEE-II & NEE-III, NERIST also accepts the JEE Main entrance scores for BTech admissions. 

Besides, admission to the postgraduate programs of NERIST is done via the national-level entrance exams. NERIST accepts the GATE entrance scores for MTech admissions. Whereas, the CAT/XAT/MAT scores are applicable for the MBA admissions at NERIST. 

NERIST- Entrance Exam 2022
NERIST conducts 3 entrance examinations for admission. The exams are- NEE (NERIST Entrance Examination)- I, NEE- II, and NEE- III. The online applications for the NEE 2022 entrance examinations are open now. Candidates can submit the online applications for the NEE 2022 exams on May 2, 2022.

NERIST Placements

The placement cell of NERIST facilitates the placement, training, and career counselling to the students. NERIST Students are offered the placements before the completion of their graduation degrees. Apart from the placement, the institute also gives chances to its student to attend 30 days long industrial training to develop their skills and practical knowledge in their field. Companies like Infosys, Tata Projects, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Vedanta, TATA Projects, etc., have visited the NERIST campus for the placement drive. 

Since, the placement drives for the year 2022 is still ongoing, the institute has not released the final placements reports but a placement glimpse. Candidates can have a look at the ongoing NERIST placement statistics.

NERIST Scholarships

The institute is offering studentship to the students on a need cum merit basis. Students can also apply for the GATE scholarship and NET JRF or CSIR JRF fellowship to pursue their research programs. Some of the scholarships are as follows:

• GATE Scholarship: Any student who has completed his/her master degrees and enrolled into the PG programs of NERIST are eligible for GATE scholarships. The selected students are awarded INR 12,400 per month under the GATE scholarship scheme.
• PhD Scholarship: Any PhD Scholars at NERIST are eligible to get the PhD scholarship scheme. Scholars are awarded with a stipend/scholarship benefit of INR 28,000 per month upon selecting.
• Studentship: Students pursuing diploma or bachelors degree at NERIST can apply for the studentship. They will be rewarded INR 800 per month as the benefit of studentship.

Engineering disciplines taught at the institute are Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
The postgraduate degree programs conducted by NERIST are M.Tech, M. Sc., MBA and PhD.
All undergraduate Engineering programs at NERIST are NBA accredited.

B.Tech Eligibility
Eligibility conditions to NERIST B.Techhas two aspects: academic and age.

Academically, applicants are required to be:
Higher Secondary or Class 12th Appeared/ Passed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Appeared/Passed Higher Secondary equivalent (ITI/ NERIST Certificate) or Class 12th (Vocational stream)
Age-wise Maximum Age of applicants, as on July 31, 2021, should not be more than 23 years (General)/ 26 years (OBC & female)/ 28 years (ST/SC/PH).
For B.TechLateral Entry, candidates who have Appeared/ Passed 3 Years Diploma in relevant field from a government recognized polytechnic or institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% will be considered eligible.
For B.TechLateral Entry, applicants need to fulfill the age criteria as specified by NERIST as Maximum Age as on July 31, 2021 is 40 years (General)/ 43 years (OBC and Female)/ 45 years (ST/SC/PH).
In order to gain lateral entry into B. Tech, applicants need to qualify NEE III.
B.Tech Selection Criteria
Selection is on the basis of academic merit and performance in entrance test.
Candidates who have studied PCM in their 10+2 level are required to take a 3-hour 150-question test comprising of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Candidates who have done their 10+2 in vocational studies need to take a 3-hour 150-question test comprising of questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and relevant vocational subject.
NERIST B.Sc. Forestry Admission 2022
The B. Sc. in Forestry offered at NERIST is a unique 4-year degree program. Admission is on the basis of entrance test NEE II conducted by the institute itself.

B.Sc. Forestry Eligibility
B.Sc. Forestry applicants need to fulfill academic and age criteria in order to be considered eligible for admission. Academically, applicants are required to pass higher Secondary or Class 12th Appeared/ Passed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The Maximum Age of applicants, as on July 31, 2021, should not be more than 23 years (General)/ 26 years (OBC & female)/ 28 years (ST/SC/PH).

B.Sc. Forestry Selection Criteria
Selection is on the basis of academic merit and performance in entrance test.
Candidates take a 3-hour 150-question test comprising of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The NEE Application form can be accessed through the NERIST Admission Portal and the Application Fee of INR 1000 (INR 600 for SC/ST/PH candidates) can be paid online using Debit/ Credit Cards or Net Banking.

NERIST M.Tech Admission 2022
NERIST conducts M.Tech programs in six engineering disciplines. Admission to the same is on the basis of performance in GATE or the institute’s own written test (NEPGET). Applicants are required to qualify relevant undergraduate degrees in order to be eligible to apply.

M.Tech Eligibility
M.Tech applicants should have a B. Tech. or equivalent degree with a CGPA of 6.5 on a scale of 10 or an aggregate score of 60%. SC/ST/PWD category candidates are allowed an exemption of 5% in aggregate score of qualifying exam.
Candidates should also have a valid GATE Score, in the absence of which, they will have to appear for the NERIST PG entrance test - NEPGET.
M.Tech Selection Criteria
Selection is on the basis of academic merit and performance in the entrance test.
Please note, candidates with valid GATE score are exempt from entrance examination for admission in M.Tech, subject to availability of seats.
NERIST M.Sc. Forestry Admission 2022
The M. Sc. Forestry program is a natural progression form the UG B. Sc. Forestry conducted at NERIST.

NERIST MBA Admission 2022
Admission to the MBA program at NERIST can be gained with a valid CAT/ mba Score. Candidates who do not have appeared for any of these tests can appear for the NEPGET to qualify for admissions.

MBA Eligibility
NERIST MBA applicants should have a Bachelor Degree in any discipline that is approved by AIU, with an aggregate score of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST applicants).
Candidates with valid CAT/ MAT score will be exempt from the written test.
MBA Selection Criteria
Selection is on the basis of academic merit and performance in the entrance tests/ institute-conducted NEPGET.
Group Discussion/ Personal Interview are also integral part of the MBA selection process. Please note, weightage for the Written test and Group Discussion/ Personal Interview will be 75% and 25%, respectively.
NERIST Ph.D Admission 2022
NERIST offers Ph.D program through all its 11 academic departments including the Humanities & Social Sciences Department and one Centre for Management Studies.

Ph.D Eligibility
NERIST PhD Applicants should have completed a M. Tech. or equivalent degree with a CGPA of 6.5 on a scale of 10 or an aggregate score of 60%.
A Postgraduate Degree in Science/ Humanities with aggregate score of 55% is also eligible for PhD.
SC/ST/PWD candidates in both cases are allowed an exemption of 5% in aggregate score of qualifying exam.
Applicants should have a valid GATE score/ NET including JRF (UGC/CSIR/ICAR)/ SLET/ Lecturer fellowship
PhD Selection Criteria
Candidates who do not have a valid GATE score/ NET including JRF (UGC/CSIR/ICAR)/ SLET/ Lecturer fellowship and M. Phil., have to appear for a written test of 100 objective-type questions from relevant subject and Research Methodology.
Candidates that qualify the test cut-off of 50 marks proceed to the Viva-Voce round with respective departments.
Please note, applicants who wish to pursue Ph.D. while in employment/service, need to submit an NOC from their employer at the time of counseling/ admission.

Upload required documents and review the application
Make online payment of application fees (INR 1000) using Credit/ Debit Card or Net Banking and submit. Please note that NERIST does not allow any edits in the form once it is submitted.
Applicants are advised to retain a print out of the completed application form to be produced at the time of counseling.
Please note that NERIST follows a reservation policy for the candidates of SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PWD and EWS Category in accordance to the rules of Govt. of India.

NERIST Scholarships
As per NIRF 2021 data submitted by the institution, 529 undergraduate and 53 postgraduate students receive full tuition fee reimbursement from the State and Central Government while 17 undergraduate and 35 postgraduate students receive reimbursement from private bodies.

UG Scholarship
Students can apply for scholarships options available to them as per eligibility through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). 
The North Eastern Council (NEC) also extends scholarship to the students of the region for higher studies.
PG Scholarship
The GATE qualified candidates enrolling to AICTE approved programs can apply through AICTE portal for
Scholarship/ Stipend as per AICTE norms.
The institute too has limited scholarship for the Ph.D. (Full Time) scholar.
Students can also avail of scholarship facilities from their respective states.
