NIT Rourkela is an autonomous university funded by the Govt of India. The institute ranks at 41 in the overall and 20 in the Engineering category of NIRF rankings. NIT Rourkela is a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities) and accredited an A Grade by ‘NAAC’. The institute currently has 7841 students and 356 faculty members enrolled. Courses offered at NIT Rourkela include 1 UG, 4 PG, 2 Dual, and 3 Doctoral degrees. The most popular program amongst all is the BTech. The program has a total capacity of 862 seats. Admission to the NIT Rourkela BTech program is based on JEE Main rank and participation in the JoSAA counselling process. Candidates seeking admission to the program must score a rank between 1874-48100 in the JEE Main exam. The total fees for the program is INR 8.22 Lac.
NIT Rourkela PhD
NIT Rourkela offers a PhD program in the field of Engineering, Science, Management, Planning and Architecture, Humanities and Social Sciences. The course can be completed in the span of 3-4 years on a regular mode while the duration can be extended up to 5-6 years in the part-time mode. To be eligible for admission to the PhD program at NIT Rourkela, candidates must hold a bachelor or master degree in relevant discipline.
Admissions to the program are offered on the basis of GATE/CEED scores followed by the performance in the personal interview. The institute may conduct a written test for the candidates not having GATE/CEED scores. The institute charges a total approximately fee of INR 2.96 Lakhs for its Ph.D. program. NIT Rourkela Faculty
Faculties at NIT Rourkela are highly experienced and professional in their own fields. Almost all the Professors have completed their PhD and are working in the R & D department. NIT Rourkela also helps its faculty’s publication papers and thesis.
The college has recruited a number of permanent professors, temporary and visiting faculties for imparting quality education. Research fellows studying at NIT Rourkela can also join the institution as Associate or Assistant Professors under the permanent faculties.
