Jain University Quick Updates

Jain University is a deemed to be university located in Bangalore, Karnataka. Jain University admission 2022 is open and will be done through JET. The JET Phase 3 for B.Tech and BCA will be conducted on June 23, 2022 and June 24, 2022. The entrance test for other UG courses will be held on June 23, 2022 followed by Personal Interview Round on June 24, 2022 and June 25, 2022. Jain University PhD registration started on May 10, 2022. The candidates can apply for the same till July 2, 2022. Jain University Pre PhD Entrance test will be conducted on July 16, 2022. Further, JET 2022 for M.Tech and other PG courses (except MBA & M.Com) is conducted on May 5 followed by PI on May 6.

ain Deemed to be University, previously known as Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College (SBMJC) was established in 1990. The university is popular for its MBA course in Finance and Marketing streams. The total fee for the MBA program is INR 9.9 lakhs. The university offers 33 undergraduate and 45 postgraduate courses under 25 departments. The university has received the NAAC rating of A++ grade in 2022 with a CGPA of 3.71. Jain University is ranked 99th in the NIRF University Ranking 2021 and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) has secured 157th position in India. As per India Today Ranking 2021, the university reported an improvement in its Mass Communication ranking from 26 to 20 in India.

Jain University Admissions to all the UG and PG courses are based on Jain Entrance Test (JET) conducted by the university. The university conducts the JET exam in two phases. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission at UG courses is 10+2 with 45% marks. For MBA and other PG courses, admission is based on Bachelor’s degree followed by JET score and PI round. 

Jain University Online Courses

Jain University provides online distance education through Jain Online Bangalore. The institute offers BBA, B.Com, MBA, MCA, MA and M.Com courses. Candidates who have completed their 10+2 are eligible to apply for online UG courses. For admission to the PG courses, Bachelor’s degree is required in the relevant discipline. The Online MBA total fee for Indian students is INR 2 lakhs can be paid via zero cost EMI starting at INR 2,500 per month. Jain University Application Process 2022

Jain University Rankings

The university has received the NAAC rating of A++ grade in 2022 with a CGPA of 3.71. Jain University is ranked 99th in the NIRF University Ranking 2021. Jain University is ranked in India Today 2021 under Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Applications and Mass Communication streams. The University has improved its Mass Communication ranking to 20 out of 47 in India by India Today Rankings 2021.

Minimum eligibility criteria for BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA & BMS courses is 10+2 in the relevant subject group from a recognized board. The minimum eligibility criteria for B.Tech program is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as main subjects.

Jain University also offers B.Tech in Lateral Entry mode for Diploma holders. Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks is the minimum eligibility criteria for MBA, M.Sc, MCA, MA, MMS & M.Com courses.

For M.Tech, BE/ B.Tech in the related discipline is required for the M.Tech program. For M.Sc & MA, JET Consists of an Objective Exam followed by GD and PI. For UG Courses, JET Consists of Written Test, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.

Admission to all the courses is granted through Jain Entrance Test (JET). The pattern of the entrance is different for different programs. CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT or MAT qualified candidates can also apply for admission to MBA course.

Apart from JET, Karnataka PGCET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for M.Tech and MCA programs. Students with a valid score in GATE can also apply for admission to M.Tech program.

Master’s degree in the relevant discipline or CA/ ACS/ ICWA degree is required for M.Phil and Ph.D. programs. The students have to qualify in the university-based entrance to secure admission in M.Phil and Ph.D.

For research programs, candidates who have already qualified in UGC NET or CSIR NET have to appear only in the personal interview. The application form can be filled online for all the UG and PG programs. The application form for M.Phil and Ph.D. can be obtained from the admission office of Jain University.

B.Tech: Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Electronics/ Computer Science/ Biology as an optional subject from a recognized board with an aggregate of at least 60% marks (55% for reserved category candidates).

B.Tech (Lateral Entry):

Diploma in relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution (approved by DTE) with an aggregate of at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST Categories).

Selection Criteria: 

B.Tech: JET or Uni-GUAGE followed by Counselling.

B.Tech (Lateral Entry): Merit Based.

Key Notes:

For B.Tech Regular admissions, International Baccalaureate students should get 30 credits to qualify for the course.

Cambridge students must study at A level (advanced level) including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

NIOS Candidates are also eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern of JET (B.Tech): JET is divided into two sections. Section I is related to the questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology and Section II is related to candidates’ skills in English. The total duration of the test is two hours 30 minutes.

Eligibility:

B.Sc: 10+2 pass candidates with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for these courses. Admission is based on marks in the qualifying examination. The university also offers Electives and professional specialization in certain courses.

B.Des: Candidate must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% in any stream and should have a primary grasp over English.
