IIT Indore Quick Updates

IIT Indore is one of the 8 new IITs officially identified as ‘Institute of National Importance’. Currently, the institute operates from its permanent campus in Simrol. IIT Indore has achieved 31st position in Overall and 16th position in the Engineering category of NIRF ranking 2022. It is also ranked at 396 in the QS World University Ranking 2023. JEE Advanced 2022 result is out now; candidates can download their scorecard through the official website - jeeadv.ac.in. Those who have cleared the examination can register online and fill choices for JoSAA Counselling 2022 till September 21 on the official website - josaa.nic.in. The round-1 seat allocation will take place on September 23. Also, GATE 2023 registrations have started; the last date to apply for the same is September 30. The exam will be conducted between February 4 and February 12, 2023. Further, IIT JAM 2023 application forms are out now. The last date to submit the application form is October 11.

IIT Indore is a public technical university established under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act. The institute is ranked 31st in the Overall category and 16th in the Engineering category by the NIRF 2022. Some of the major recruiters included Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, Orcale, Amazon, Walmart, Siemens etc. The highest domestic salary rose up to INR 56 LPA & highest overseas salary stood at INR 49.1 LPA. Students received an average salary of INR 23.5 LPA.

IIT Indore BTech
IIT Indore has a four-year B.Tech program with five specialties. The B.Tech program at IIT Indore has a maximum seat capacity of 360. The institute charges an annual fee of INR 2.42 lakhs for the program. Candidates are chosen for the program based on their JEE Advanced entrance scores, which are then followed by JoSAA counselling. Admission is open to candidates having a JEE rank of 505 to 18804.

IIT Indore Scholarships
All the students of SC, ST and PwD categories are exempted from payment of 100% tuition fee per semester irrespective of their parental income as per MHRD order.

Merit cum Means Scholarships:

Top 10% of students of these categories to be paid MCM scholarship of Rs. 3,000 per month (whose parental income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum) or INR 2,000 per month (whose parental income is between 1 lakh and 5 lakhs per annum).

Foundation For Excellence Scholarships:

Eligibility Criteria: Students must meet the following qualifying criteria for eligibility for FFE’s scholarship program. 1. Academic: Only for BE / B.Tech/Integrated M. IIT Indore Admission 2022 is based on national-level entrance exams. Admission to the IIT Indore B.Tech program is done through the JEE Advanced entrance exam, scheduled for July 3, 2022. NTA has also released the JEE Main 2022 dates. The JEE Main exam 2022 will be conducted from April 21 – May 04, 2022 and May 24-29, 2022, in two sessions. The registration for April session exam is ongoing. Candidates can fill out the JEE Main 2022 application form till March 31. For admission to the M.Tech program, the GATE exam scores are considered. IIT Indore MSc Data Science
IIT Indore in association with IIM Indore has introduced an MSc in Data Science and Management program. With a total seat intake of 200, the program is offered for 2 years in online mode. Also, a fee of INR 12 Lakhs for Indian participants and INR 15.6 Lacs for international participants is charged for the entire program. Additionally, the program consists of a total of 900 hours of learning spanning 14-15 hours per week of live lectures. Students under this program will be benefited from the faculty of both institutes. 

IIT Indore MSc Data Science Eligibility Criteria
To become eligible for the 2 years Online MSc Data Science program, the interested candidates must fill the following criteria and requirements before applying. 

A bachelors/masters degree such as BTech/ BS/ BPharm/ BArch/ BDes/ BSc/ MSc/ MCA/ MBA with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
Any equivalent degree with a minimum of two courses in Mathematics and one in Computer Programming at the qualifying degree level. 
A valid CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ JAM scores of 2022/2021/2020. 
IIT Indore MSc Data Science Selection Criteria
The initial shortlisting of the candidates is done based on their applications submitted. The institute further calls the shortlisted candidates for an interview. However, the final admission will be granted to the candidates based on their performances in the interview.

IIT Indore M.Sc + PhD Admission 2022
IIT Indore offers a two-year M.Sc program with the provision of converting to MSc + PhD (dual degree) at the end of the 3rd Semester. The program is being offered in five specializations, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology, and Astronomy. If a student chooses to opt for M.Sc+Ph.D. after the third semester, they will earn a degree in both M.Sc and Ph.D.

For admission to the program, candidates need to appear for the IIT JAM entrance examination.

IIT Indore M.Sc+Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in the respective discipline with at least 60% marks from a recognized university or institute.
A valid score in IIT JAM entrance examination.
Note: Students need to maintain a certain CGPA fixed by the institute in order to be eligible for M.Sc+Ph.D. after the third semester.

IIT Indore M.Sc+Ph.D. Selection Criteria
Selection of the candidates is done through the IIT JAM counseling process in which four rounds of admission are conducted. Seats are allocated on the basis of scores obtained in the JAM entrance test, choice filling, availability of seats, categories, and other factors.
