Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) formerly known as UP Technical University is one of the premier and largest technical universities in India. AKTU has been consistently ranked among the top 50 institutions of India. Currently, the university has an enrollment of more than 4,00,000 students in various programs across 756 AKTU affiliated colleges and institutions spanning over the entire UP state.
The most popular program at AKTU is B.Tech which is offered across 41 different specializations via UPCET and JEE Mains entrance examinations. Apart from this, the university also offers various other affiliated programs such as B.Arch, B.Pharm, MBA, M.Tech, MCA, Ph.D., etc. During the admission process 2021, AKTU has only filled 20% of seats through the UPCET counseling process and 66% of the seats through direct admissions while the 14% seats remained vacant.
In addition to this, the university also offers NBA accredited programs such as B.Tech, B.Pharm, and M.Tech & M.Pharm at UG & PG level in 50+ affiliated/ associated engineering colleges of AKTU. In addition to this, AKTU has set up various collaborations and industry relations with other universities/institutes in India and abroad. These collaborated institutes and firms include IIT Kanpur, REPL, UPSIFS, etc., and many more. Also, in the previous years, AKTU has entered into membership of academic consortia and networks of professional bodies
AKTU also provides placement opportunities to its graduated students or the students who are about to graduate through University-Industry Interface Cell. In the placement drive of 2022, the highest salary package touched the INR 113 LPA which was offered by Amazon. The university has launched several programs to promote and implement entrepreneurship among the students.
AKTU Admissions
Admissions at the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University for UG and PG courses are based on the UPCET entrance test. The university also accepts JEE Mains scores for B.Tech admissions. Candidates applying for M.Tech are eligible for university counseling through GATE scores. For admission to AKTU PhD programs, the institution conducts a separate research-based entrance test followed by a personal interview round for the shortlisted candidates.

Students who wish to apply to APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University may follow the steps given below for the admission process:
Students are required to register for the UPCET exam on the official website of UPCET.
All details in the registration form including education details, names, and addresses need to be filled in accurately.
Submission of the form requires an application fee of INR 1300 for General and OBC category candidates and INR 650 for SC/ ST/ female students.
Results are declared on the official website of UPCET, which can be consequently checked by the candidates. Interested candidates are then required to fill the application form available on the AKTU website.
Fill the necessary details which includes education details, names, addresses and results of qualifying examinations.
The list of shortlisted candidates are declared on the ‘What’s New’ and ‘important links’ section on the official website.
Admission to UG and PG programmes which do not require UPCET results are entirely based on the aggregate in previous qualifying exams followed by a counselling round, conducted by AKTU's affiliated colleges.

AKTU Results
The university releases the semester results, merit lists and cutoffs for UPSEE/ GATE/ CAT/ CMAT etc on its official website only. Candidates can visit the official website and get the information for the same.

Click on the desired option to check the results. A new window will appear.
Enter your examination roll number along with the displayed captcha.
Click on ‘Submit”.
The result will appear on a new window. Candidates can download a hard copy of the same for future reference.

The university has a fully functional university Industry Interface cell which is responsible for internship and placement opportunities for the students. The institution has maintained a 90% placement rate for the meritorious students accompanied with a fair salary package that ranges from INR 1LPA - 20 LPA. The placement cell is responsible for all placement related issues of the affiliated colleges. In the placement drive of 2022, a student from an affiliated college of AKTU received a salary package of INR 1.13 Crore per annum. The highest salary package was offered by Amazon, a Dublin-based company.
