DTU is one of the oldest Engineering institutes in India. Established as Delhi Polytechnic institute, DTU became first engineering college of Delhi. The university is a part of TIFAC COREs (Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council's Centres of Relevance & Excellence) in Fiber Optics and Optical Communication. TIFAC COREs is an initiative of Govt of India which insists on industry and academia collaborations for research and development. DTU offers more than 90 courses in Engineering, Design, Science, and Management.

 

The 90 courses offered include 5 UG, 3 PG, and a PhD degree. The majority of the candidates seeking admission to the university opt for the BTech program. DTU BTech is the flagship program of the institute offered in 16 specializations. Selection to the program is based on JEE Main rank and JAC Delhi Counselling. Delhi Technical University is also famous for its management courses. For this purpose, the university has introduced the University School of Management and Entrepreneurship (USME). The campus is popularly known as DTU East Delhi Campus, due to its location. DTU, USME currently offers MBA, MBA business analytics, BBA, and BA in Economics. Admission to PG courses is offered on the basis of CAT percentile, whereas, UG course admissions are merit-based. Earlier, the DTU management programs were offered only through Delhi School of Management (DSM, DTU). The public business school was established under DTU and offers EMBA, MBA, and PhD programs in management.

Admission CutOff Criteria

DTU Delhi reports its cut-off and merit list for different courses to get a confirmation in UG and PG programs each year. There are around 2 departments and colleges in DTU Delhi for which cutoff is resolved based on the reservation categories and the seat availability. One of the major courses offered at DTU includes B.Tech in Computer Engineering. Admission to the program is through JAC Delhi counseling. For the year 2021, the 6th round of counseling has been completed and the cutoff for the last round was released on December 16, 2021. The opening and closing ranks for DTU B.Tech Computer Engineering ranged between 5284-8322 which is higher than the previous year. For the year 2020, the opening and closing ranks for the same ranged between 7017-11245. The ranks for other branches have also gone high, the table below presents a comparison of 2020 and 2021 ranks (Delhi Region):

DTU BTech Cutoff 2021 
DTU offers B.Tech admissions to JEE Main qualified candidates on the basis of JAC Delhi Counselling. All the JEE Main qualified students are required to register themselves for the JAC Delhi Counselling which is usually conducted in two phases and 6 rounds in total every year. DTU JAC Cutoff Trends (2021/2020/2019): Delhi Region
For the year 2021, JAC Delhi conducted a total of 6 rounds (including the spot admission round) whereas for the year 2020 only 5 rounds were conducted. Earlier in 2019, the authority conducted only 4 rounds. Rounds in counseling are conducted on the basis of vacant seats.
