Nalanda University is a Central University also known as Nalanda International University, located in the town of Rajgir, Bihar was restored recently in 2006. The University offers various postgraduate courses like MA, M.Sc, MBA with few specializations along with a PhD and PG Diploma courses. Nalanda University was originally a revered place of learning in ancient India, attracting students from abroad until it was destroyed in a series of raids.
Candidates applying for all postgraduate courses have to produce a statement of purpose. They also have to take an interview. For admission to MBA, the candidates should have taken CAT/ MAT/ XAT exam with at least 70 percentile. The University accepts admission to PhD courses based on Letter of Self-Introduction, Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendations, Research Proposal, Writing Samples, and further Interviews.

Scholarship
Nalanda University Scholarship
The university provides two types of scholarship programs as Merit Scholarships & Means-cum-Merit Scholarships. Nalanda University offers scholarships for both international & national students.
The aids are for those who are academically good and financially backward.
Students whose family income is less than INR 4.5 LPA can avail of the Means-cum-Merit scholarship. Students need to apply for this scholarship aid before July as the deadline for the application is July, every year.
Both the scholarships are waivers of tuition fees, residential and mess charges. Students studying the Regular PhD program will be awarded a fellowship per month as per Nalanda University norms.
