The TOEFL, or Test of English as a Foreign Language

 What is TOEFL?

ETS administers the TOEFL, a computer-based test that assesses candidates' English proficiency necessary to study, work, or migrate abroad. The TOEFL registration process can be completed in a few easy steps. The TOEFL exam costs around 190 INR in India. The TOEFL test takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete. The TOEFL is offered in three different formats: computer-based, iBT, and PBT. The latter is only usable in locations where the internet is unavailable. There are four sections to the TOEFL exam pattern: Writing, speaking, listening, and reading. Each section of the TOEFL has a score range of 0 to 30, with a range of 0-120. ETS introduced TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition while test centers were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The syllabus for this TOEFL iBT home edition is comparable to that of the original exam. The TOEFL scorecard will not be sent to candidates in paper form; however, the online report will be available on the official website within six to ten days of the test. Depending on their score on the TOEFL exam, students can apply for scholarships.

Why take the TOEFL?

TOEFL scores are accepted by more than 9,000 prestigious universities worldwide as a requirement for English language proficiency. This language proficiency test measures Indian students' reading, listening, speaking, and writing abilities. Candidates apply for the TOEFL for a variety of reasons, including a job, a bachelor's degree, or a high school diploma. Due to its excellent scores, the TOEFL language test is preferred by Indian students to the IELTS. The best part is that tests are scored anonymously and that there are no interviews. According to the ETS, Indians received an average score of 24 out of 30 for listening, writing, and speaking. Indian candidates receive the lowest reading score because of their extensive vocabulary. Candidates in the United States and Canada can easily enroll in TIER 2 colleges with an overall average score of 95.
