What is SSC GD ?
• SSC GD stands for Staff Selection Commission General Duty. The SSC GD (General Duty) exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit eligible candidates for various positions in the central armed police force (CAPF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles. The exam is conducted at the national level, and candidates from all over the country can apply for it.
• The selection process for SSC GD includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and Medical Examination. Candidates who successfully clear all these stages are selected for the various positions offered through this exam.
• The SSC GD exam is generally conducted in three phases - Tier I (CBT), Tier II (PET and PST), and Tier III (Medical Examination). The CBT exam consists of four sections - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi language. The exam is of 100 marks, and candidates have to complete it within 90 minutes.

SSC GD Exam
The SSC GD exam is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit eligible candidates for various posts in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.
The selection process for SSC GD consists of four stages:
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) –
This is the first stage of the selection process, where candidates have to appear for an online exam consisting of four sections – General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) –
Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be eligible to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test, which includes tasks such as running, long jump, and high jump.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST) –
Candidates who qualify for the PET will be eligible to appear for the Physical Standard Test, which involves measurements such as height, weight, and chest circumference.
4. Medical Examination –
The final stage of the selection process is a medical examination, where candidates are assessed for their physical and medical fitness.
Candidates who clear all the stages of the selection process are considered for final selection based on their performance in the CBT, subject to their meeting the physical and medical standards
SSC GD eligibility and fees
SSC GD eligibility and fees are as follows:
Eligibility:
• Candidates must be between 18 to 23 years of age.
• Candidates must have passed the 10th standard or equivalent from a recognized board.
Fees:
• The application fee for the SSC GD exam is Rs. 100.
• However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.

SSC GD exam pattern
The SSC GD exam consists of four stages:

4. Medical Examination
• The Computer Based Test (CBT) is the first stage of the exam, which consists of four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi language. The exam is conducted online mode, and there are 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
• The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is the second stage, which consists of a race, long jump, and high jump. The candidates are required to complete a 5 km race within 24 minutes for males and a 1.6 km race within 8.5 minutes for females. The long jump distance for males is 14 feet, and for females, it is 9 feet. The high jump distance for males is 3.9 feet, and for females, it is 3 feet.
• The Physical Standard Test (PST) is the third stage, which is conducted to check the physical standards of the candidates. The candidates are measured for height, chest, and weight. The minimum height required for males is 170 cm, and for females, it is 157 cm. The chest measurement should be 80 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm for males.
• The Medical Examination is the fourth and final stage, which is conducted to ensure that the candidate is medically fit for the job.

SSC GD Admit card and Result
SSC GD (General Duty) Constable admit card is usually released a few weeks before the exam date on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Candidates can download their admit card by entering their registration number and password/date of birth.
