University of Engineering and Management (UEM) Kolkata was established in the year 2014 The Institute is awarded Life Time Institutional Membership of Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). It is approved by UGC, AICTE and IEM is accredited with ‘Grade A’ by NAAC. UEM is promoted by the Institute of Engineering and Management Trust (IEM). It offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses in Engineering, Management, and Science. Admission to UEM Kolkata is done on the basis of valid marks secured in national or state entrance tests. In the year 2017-2021, more than 607 students got placed with the highest package of INR 72 LPA by IEMA Research & Development Pvt. Ltd. and the average package of INR 4.5 LPA. Wipro has selected 60 BCA graduates from IEM GROUP (34 IEM, 26 UEM).

UEM Kolkata Ph.D. Course Eligibility
UEM offers Ph.D. in Engineering, Management, and Science through the following eligibility criteria:

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in any discipline from UGC recognized University with 60% marks or
The candidate who has obtained a postgraduate diploma of two-year duration or more is also eligible to apply to the Doctor of Philosophy program.
The candidate has to clear the entrance exam conducted by the University.

Students interested in pursuing should have a minimum 55% in the Master’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent from a recognized university.
Candidates need to appear for the CET/ NET-JRF exam, followed by an Interview, and tentative research proposal.
PhD Selection Process
Admission is through counseling based on the marks obtained in the CET/ NET-JRF exam, followed by an Interview.
Candidates are shortlisted for the interview, on the basis of performance in CET exam.
The final admission will be based on the overall performance in qualifying exam, CET exam, and Interview.
