NIT Durgapur Quick Update
NIT Durgapur is a public technical university in West Bengal. The institute has secured 34th position in the Engineering category of NIRF ranking 2022. NIT Durgapur has also secured 72nd position in the Overall category. NIT Durgapur admission 2022 is ongoing for the B.Tech program. JoSAA 2022 round 1 seat allotment result is out now. Candidates can check the seat allotment results on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.admissions.nic.in. Online reporting for admission and document verification for candidates allotted seats in round 1 will take place till September 26. JoSAA round 2 seat allotment will be released on September 28. GATE 2023 registrations for M.Tech admission started on August 30 and will continue till September 30. The exam will be conducted between February 4 and February 12, 2023.
NIT Durgapur is ranked 34 by the NIRF 2022 in the Engineering category. The institute is among the eight colleges established under the co-operative ventures between Govt of India and West Bengal. NIT Durgapur is the first institute in Eastern India selected as the Lead Institute under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP). The institute has 16 National and 17 International collaborations for student exchange programs, internships, and workshops.
Currently, the institute has 14 departments, 5 Centre of Excellence, 224 faculty members, and 4000 students enrolled. NIT Durgapur offers 4 BTech programs, 19 MTech programs, 3 MSc programs, 1 MCA, 1 MBA, and 1 PhD program in spanning engineering, computer applications, sciences, and management. With primary focus on engineering, the two major programs of the institute are BTech and MTech. Admission to the BTech program is based on JEE Main rank, whereas, MTech admissions require GATE scores. NIT Durgapur rankings have been improved a lot over the years. The institute is at present, ranked 6th among all the NITs. Earlier, the institute was ranked 8th in 2020. Similarly, the highest CTC at NIT Durgapur has also increased. From being INR 33 LPA in 2020, the CTC has now reached up to INR 44 LPA in 2021. The placements for 2021 are going on, a total of 530 students has been placed so far in the BTech program. Amongst all the branches in BTech, CSE and ECE have recorded the highest placement rates. NIT Durgapur BTech
NIT Durgapur BTech has been ranked 34th in the NIRF Engineering 2021 list. In total, 876 seats are available across the 8 specialisations in the program. In addition, NIT Durgapur offers a 5-year dual degree program for BTech and MTech. The institute has provisioned the degree conversion as well. BTech students can convert their BTech degrees into dual degree programs after the 7th semester by applying to the MTech program in the relevant field. Both programs require JEE Main scores for admission.

NIT Durgapur B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

How to apply for JEE Main 2022?
After the candidate fulfils all eligibility criteria, they have to take the JEE- Main for selection. The procedure for applying is given below.
- Visit the official website of JEE- Main.
- Register for the online application form.
- Make a note of the system-generated application number.
- Create a password.
- Log in again and fill out the form.
- Upload scanned images of photographs and signatures.
- A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged/ It is to be paid through Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI or Paytm.
- Keep a printout of the application form for future use.
How to apply for JoSAA Counselling?
After a candidate qualifies the JEE-Main, they will have to undergo counselling before final selection. The procedure for registering for counselling is given below:
- Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website.
- Use the JEE Main application number to log in.
- Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate.
- Click on ‘Submit changes’.
- Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options.
- Lock the selected choices by clicking on ‘I agree to lock my choices’.
- Keep a printout of the page for future reference.
- After submitting all the requisite information, pay the counselling fees (800 INR) online.
- Keep a printout of the application form. It will be needed for verification at the facilitation centre
