Kerala Agricultural University Facilities

The college has many facilities the students have access to.

Kerala Agriculture University (KAU) Vellanikkara, Kerala is an agricultural university that offers various programs in agriculture, horticulture and forestry. From 2011, the university is trifurcated into Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) and Kerala Agricultural University.

The University has six colleges (three Agriculture, one Agricultural Engineering, one Forestry, one Co-operation Banking & Management), six RARSs, seven KVKs, 15 Research Stations and 16 Research and Extension Units under the faculties of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry. In addition, one Academy on Climate Change Adaptation and one Institute of Agricultural Technology offering M.Sc. (Integrated) Climate Change Adaptation and Diploma in Agricultural Sciences respectively are also functioning in Kerala Agricultural University. The University has five campuses in Vellayani, Padannakad, Vellanikkara, tavanur, and pattambi.

It offers Diploma courses, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Integrated and doctoral degree programmes in the field of agriculture.

The University follows the online mode of application only. Students are admitted to the Under Graduate courses of the university on the basis of the ranks obtained in the common entrance examination (CEE) conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala.

Application forms for all Under Graduate courses other than B.Sc (C&B) can be obtained from institutions listed in the Government Notification regarding Common Entrance Examination, issued from time to time.

Admissions to BSc Co-operation and Banking (C&B) course are made on merit.

For the PG courses, admissions are made on the basis of merit scored in the entrance test conducted by the university. For the admissions to Ph.D., selections are made by the committee constituted by the University for the purpose on the basis of written test and interview. Ph. D. admissions are on the basis of interviews. Application forms for PG courses can be downloaded from this website.

The foreign students shall apply for admission to the Programmes of the Kerala Agricultural University through the Indian Missions in the respective country and the application with bio-data and copies of certificates to prove qualification and age has to be forwarded to the Government of India by the Indian Embassy/Mission in concerned country. The Govt. of India, ICAR or EdCIL arranges for admission through the Indian Council of Agricultural Research/ DARE/ EdCIL. The seats allotted to foreign students will be over and above the notified strength in each course.

Admissions to all UG courses usually begin in the month of February.

Kerala Agriculture University, Under Graduate Admissions 2022
The University offers B.Sc (Hons.) in Agriculture in three Affiliated colleges, B.Sc Co-operation and Banking, B.Sc Forestry and B.Sc Co-operation, Banking and Management different colleges of university.

It also offers B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering and B.Tech in Food Engineering. University also runs Integrated programme such as M.Sc in climate change adaptation and M.Sc in Biotechnology. Admissions to all the Under Graduate courses are made through CEE (Common Entrance Exam) conducted by Commissioner of Entrance exam. Eligibility criteria are given in the table below.

B.Tech    Agricultural Engineering    Admissions to the course is done on the basis of rank scored in CEE conducted by KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical courses)    Faculty of Agriculture Engineering    Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission.
The application procedure for admission to these courses is online. Students who are interested in any of the courses are required to visit website and apply online there. Mode of admission to these courses is through Common Entrance Exam. Selection is made strictly on the basis of merit in entrance exam. University has reservation provision for SC and ST candidates.

Note: For admission to all UG courses, the minimum eligibility for ST/SC candidates is pass marks in qualifying exam.

Usually, these tests are conducted in the month of December or January.  Kerala Agriculture University invites application for MBA in Agriculture Business Management only after the declaration of results of the above mentioned tests. Admissions to the course are made on the basis of the scores in KMAT, CAT, CMAT OR MAT.

University also has reservation policy for ST and SC candidates.

Kerala Agriculture University Postgraduation Admissions 2022
University offers M.Sc and M.tech programmes in various disciplines of Agriculture, Forestry Wildlife and Co-operation, Banking and Management. Admissions to Postgraduation courses begin in the month of July every year. Mode of application is online only. Candidates who wish to take admission in these courses should regularly visit the university website for more information.

Application forms and prospectus for admission to the PG programmes are available in the KAU website. Ph.D    Home Science(FS&N),    The minimum eligibility for admission to Ph.D in Home Science shall be M Sc. in Home Science with specialisation in Food Science and Nutrition/M Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition recognised by KAU with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0 for general category and 6.5/10.0 for SC/ST or 60% marks for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST under traditional system.    College of Agriculture, Vellayani AND College of Horticulture, Vellanikkara

The candidates should apply for the course(s) online and a hard copy of the application shall be forwarded along with the required documents and fees to the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, KAU P.O., Thrissur, Kerala - 680 656 within 7 days to the last date prescribed for the submission of online application.
