Central University of Karnataka (CUK) was established in 2009, by an act of Parliament, in Gulbarga known as Kulabaragi now. The Central University of Karnataka was among the 16 Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan Period. Its Campus spreads over 654 acres of land at the Gulbarga-Waghdhari Inter-State highway near Kadaganchi village in Kalaburagi. CUK Admissions in all the courses is done through the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) conducted by any of the Central Universities in India each year. The University releases Cutoff for admitting students in the university. Students have to apply for admission by filling the application form online. CUK Admission process is conducted through online mode only.

Under the UG domain, the University conducts regular courses including regular B.Sc., 3 specialisations in B.Sc. Honours, 2 specialisations each in BA and B.Tech programme, B.Ed. and BBA course.
The University conducts PG level courses as well including 9 specialisations in MA, MSW, 7 specialisations in M.Sc., M.Com, 2 specialisations in MBA, MA, 2 specialisations in M.Tech, LLM and MCA. Central University of Karnataka also offers M.Phil. course and 17 specialisations in Ph.D programme.

Central University of Karnataka came into existence in the year 2009 and offers different courses in multiple streams including science, commerce, law, education, arts and management. Admissions annually starts in the month of March and online mode of application is acceptable. The courses are approved by UGC for on campus conduct.

Admissions are done on the basis of merit in qualifying entrance exam including JEE Mains and CUCET for the particular year.
50% seats are admitted via National level entrance test like JEE while rest 50% are selected via CUCET 2020.
To qualify CUCET, an eligible student must secure at least 40% marks and 35% for reserved category.
