Description
Assam Agricultural University was set up in the year 1969, in Jorhat, Assam. It is a UGC approved university which offers undergraduates and postgraduate courses in streams like Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Community science and Fisheries science, Horticulture and Sericulture. AAU also offers research level courses. Admissions to all courses are merit-based except B.Sc Veterinary Science for which admissions are based on entrance exam known as AAU VET, conducted by the university itself.
Assam Agricultural University Admissions
To get admissions to B.V.Sc & A.H. Veterinary Science course, candidates are required to appear for AAU VET entrance exam. Also, candidates belonging to General Category should have obtained 50% in English, Physics Chemistry and Biology for admissions to this course. However, there is a relaxation of 5% for reserved category students.

- Candidates can register and apply online for any degree program at Assam Agricultural University at their official site.
- The three steps to submit an application form are Registration, Payment and Submission of application.
- Register in the portal by filling in the required data.
- For paying the fee, log in to the portal using the Registration ID, Username and Password.
- After completing the payment upload the required photos and fill in the academic information.
- Submit the form and take a print out of the confirmation sheet.
- If the candidate is selected then the next process would be online counseling according to the schedule drafted in the AAU website. After the selection commission goes through a candidate’s application, the results will be intimated.
AAU Results
AAU releases its results on official website only. After results, merit lists and counselling details are also released on official university website only.

- Visit the official website of AAU and you will find a “notice” section in the homepage.
- Click on the link in the notice section which will take you to the results page.
- Enter your login credentials.
- A new results window will appear. Results are released in PDF format which can be downloaded as required.

Assam Agricultural University Scholarships
Assam Agricultural University provides students the opportunity of availing below mentioned scholarships:
- State Merit Scholarship: Students from each department, belonging to the State of Assam are eligible for this scholarship. A GPA of 7.5 and above is required for the ones pursuing masters and a GPA of 8.00 and above for Ph.D scholars.
- INSPIRE Fellowship: Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India offers this fellowship to the Ph.D scholars upto INR 2,57,600. Any student with the highest CGPA is eligible for the scholarship.
- Rajiv Gandhi National Scholarship: This is offered by UGC for post graduate students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe upto INR 3,00,000.
- Bayer Fellowship: The fellowship is initiated by the Bayer crop science Ltd. for the Masters and Phd students and is offered upto INR 1,20,000.
- DBT Fellowship: It is offered by the Department of Biotechnology of Government of India.
- ICAR JRF, ICAR SRF: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research offers SRF and JRF for PG students upto INR 3,30,690.

Assam Agricultural University B.Sc. (Veterinary Science) Admission 2022
The university offers B.Sc. in Veterinary Science as well. The application form can be submitted online. An entrance exam (VET) is conducted by the university for this course.
The VET (Veterinary Entrance Test) is an be offline test, which is held at one of the assigned centers. VET is conducted at the university level and merit of this exam will determine admission into B.Sc. (Veterinary Science).
Applications can be submitted online and the application fee of INR 1100 must be paid on the payment gateway online itself. Subsequent to that, an admit card will be issued which will be required at the venue of the VET. Certificates of Permanent Residence of Assam or wards of defense/para-military personnel are compulsory to ensure eligibility.

Assam Agricultural University M.Sc. Admission 2022
The university offers M.Sc. in 4 specializations. The admissions are conducted on the basis of merit in undergraduate qualifying exams. B.Sc. or equivalent in a relevant field is required for those who wish to apply to this course.
