Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Nagpur or Nagpur University is a State University located in the Orange city of India - Nagpur, Maharashtra. Presently it comprises 39 Post Graduate Teaching Departments (PGTD), 3 constituent colleges and 601 affiliated colleges spread across 11 campuses within an overall layout of 318 acres.
The institute is a proud member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The university provides numerous Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PG Diploma, Diploma & Doctorate level courses among many disciplines and its specializations.
RTMNU Admission for International Students
Foreign Candidates Admission will be done through the International Students Office of Nagpur University. Candidates while apply needs to have an eligibility certificate from the university. Candidate can fill that form from the university website and submit it with the fee of INR 500 along with the documents like:
- Marksheet of 10th and 12th or Equivalent
- College Admission Letter
- No Objection Letter
After the verifying the eligibility, candidates have to fill the application form and submit it with the following documents:
- Guardian Undertaking
- Forwarding Remark of Indian Embassy/ High Commission of Applicant’s Country.
- The undertaking of the Official of Indian Embassy or High Commission of Applicant’s Country.
- Photocopy of Receipt of USD 500 as Registration Fee.
- Demand Draft with the application fee in favor of Registrar, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Payable at RTMNU Nagpur.
RTMNU Scholarships
The University provides the following scholarships to deserving and meritorious candidates under many programs in its curriculum. One of them is the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Memorial Fellowship, it is offered to students enrolled in the doctoral program of the university. To be eligible for this, one needs to submit a six-monthly progress report after which they will be awarded an amount of INR 5000 per month. It is only open to bonafide students of Nagpur. Nagpur University Time Table is released for both summer and winter sessions separately. Follow these steps to check the exam dates.
- In the RTMNU timetable, click on the session (winter/summer)
- Click on the respective faculty/department (for which you want to check the exam dates)
- After clicking on the faculty, you will be redirected to the course list of that particular department.
- Finally, click on the course name & note down the exam dates for the written (theory) exam.
Note: Winter and summer session terms are used here for the exam time table of the odd semester & even semester programs.

Controller of Examination, Nagpur University summarizes the result for all courses offered by the Nagpur University every year. In order to check the Nagpur University result, students need to visit the RTMNU official website. Students must follow the given steps to check their results.

- Click on the Result section, you will be redirected to the result page.
- You can toggle in between the winter or summer sessions.
- On the result page, you will find three links, namely, latest result, faculty wise result & Result status.
- Enter your details and click on submit.
- Save and download your result.
RTMNU Facilities
Following are some of the facilities offered by the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University to cater to the needs of the students:
- Library: It houses a collection of 4,02,068 (3,89,597 purchased, 20,132 gifted) books in 4 tiers & can accommodate 250 readers with 871 e-books. It has subscribed to 186 Indian, and 11 Foreign Print Journals.
- Hostel: The university offers hostel facilities to both male and female students enrolled in its academic programs. The rooms are equipped with all the basic needs like filtered water, T.V. hall, reading room, playground, CCTV surveillance, etc.
- Health Centre: The university has 1 medical officer and 1 pharmacist and other paramedical staff to look after the medical needs of the students as well as faculty members.

Candidates who fulfill the relevant eligibility criteria can apply for the UG, PG, Ph.D, Diploma, certificate courses through the official university website. Admission to the university courses is based on the merit list issued by the university as per the marks scored by the candidate in the qualifying degree examination/ entrance examination. RTMNU UG Admissions 2022
The university offers various undergraduate courses programs in multiple streams including engineering, management, law, arts and sciences. For admission to UG courses, candidate should have passed HSC (10+2) examination from a recognized board of education with atleast 50% (45% for SC/ST) aggregate of marks. Candidates are shortlisted for admission on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying 10+2 examination.
- The university does not hold any entrance tests for the following courses.
- The admission is based on the marks scored by the student in the qualifying exam.

RTMNU PG Admissions 2022
The university offers various PG courses in multiple specializations under different department/ faculties. All the Post-Graduate courses are of 2 years duration and the selection of candidates to different Post-Graduate courses is done on the basis of their performance in the entrance test conducted by the university. The university releases a merit list on the basis of performance of candidates in the entrance test.
- Candidates are required to visit the university website and register themselves to fill the application form.
- Applicants require a valid email ID and phone number for registration.
- University shall also send notifications on the given mobile number and email ID related to hall ticket and release of merit list.

RTMNU Ph.D Admission 2022
The university offers Ph.D in multiple streams such as arts, commerce, science, engineering, medicine etc. Candidates who have completed their Post-Graduation in the relevant discipline are eligible to apply for the research courses. Selection of candidates are done on the basis of performance in the university entrance examination known as PET II (Ph.D. Entrance Test) and marks in the qualifying degree. For admission to M.Phil, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying degree and in PET I Entrance Exam.
- Candidates must have completed his/her master's degree from a recognized university in the relevant subject.
- Candidate should have scored at least 50% marks (45% for reserved seats in Maharashtra) in their qualifying degree.
- The admission process generally starts in December.

The following group of candidates will be exempted from PET:
- Candidate who have qualified GATE/SET/NET/JRF examination
- Candidate who possess an M.Phil. Degree in the concerned course from any university.
- Candidate working as a full time teacher with a minimum of 7 years of experience or an Officer not below class II rank in any university.
Admission to the Ph.D courses offered by the university is based on the PET II, conducted by the respective departments of RTMNU. The merit list of the shortlisted candidates will be issued by the university at its official website.
- The test is conducted once every year, in the month of December.
- PET-I will be of 90 minutes duration based on General Research Aptitude and will consist of 100 MCQs of 1 mark each.
- The paper will contain questions based on Analytical Reasoning, Numerical Ability and Language Competency/ Computer/ Environment/ Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation.
- PET-II will be of 2 hour duration and of 50 marks. Candidate will have the choice of attempting any 5 questions out of 8 questions and each question will be of 10 marks.
RTMNU Application Procedure:
- Candidates need to fill the university application form for the respective courses through the admission web portal available at the official university website.
- The payment for the applications is made online.
- The candidates are advised to retain the copy of application form and payment receipt for further reference.
- The printout of the completed application form has to be submitted at the university office within the stipulated time.
For UG/ PG courses:
- For admission to UG/ programs, the application forms can be filled online through the official university website. To apply online, candidates are required to register themselves on the website.
- While registering, candidates must have a colour photograph, a valid email ID and marksheet of qualifying examination. Candidates are required to fill the required details and select the ‘registration option.
- After registration, candidates will get the user name and password on the registered mobile number and email-ID
- Candidates can again login with the given user name and password to fill the application form. After filling the application form, candidates must take the print out of form and submit it to the respective college along with the required documents.
For Ph.D courses:
- Application forms shall be filled through online mode available at the website of Designated Agency and submitted to the university by post within the stipulated time.
- Duly filled-in applications should be mailed along with the certificates and and prescribed examination fee in the form of Demand Draft (DD).
- DD should be drawn in favour of “Registrar, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur” and payable at Nagpur.
