SSC JHT Highlights

SSC JHT 2023

What is SSC JHT?

SSC JHT stands for Staff Selection Commission Junior Hindi Translator. The exam is conducted annually in two stages- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is a computer-based test, while Paper 2 is a descriptive type test. SSC JHT Vacancy

The SSC JHT exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the post of Junior Hindi Translator in various government departments and organizations. SSC JHT Exam eligibility 

Eligibility Criteria for SSC JHT Exam:

1. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2. Age Limit: The age limit for the SSC JHT exam is 30 years as of January 1, 2023.

3. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have a Master's degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level. Or, the candidate should have a Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi or English as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level. Or, the candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in any subject with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.

SSC JHT Exam Application Fee:

The application fee for the SSC JHT exam is Rs. 100/- only for male candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the application fee

SSC JHT Exam pattern 

The SSC JHT Exam consists of two papers - Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is a Computer Based Test (CBT) while Paper II is a Descriptive Test.

Paper I:

•  The paper consists of two parts - Part I and Part II.
•  Part I is a general test of 100 marks and consists of multiple-choice questions.
•  Part II is a language and literature test of 100 marks and also consists of multiple-choice questions.
•  The total time duration for Paper I is 2 hours.

Paper II:

•  The paper is a descriptive test of 200 marks.

•  Candidates have to write short essays or letters in the language they have chosen for the Paper I language and literature test.

•  The total time duration for Paper II is 2 hours.

SSC JHT Exam Syllabus

The SSC JHT Exam consists of two papers - Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is a Computer Based Test (CBT) while Paper II is a Descriptive Test.

Paper I:

•  The paper consists of two parts - Part I and Part II.
•  Part I is a general test of 100 marks and consists of multiple-choice questions.
•  Part II is a language and literature test of 100 marks and also consists of multiple-choice questions.
•  The total time duration for Paper I is 2 hours.

Paper II:

•  The paper is a descriptive test of 200 marks.
•  Candidates have to write short essays or letters in the language they have chosen for the Paper I language and literature test.
•  The total time duration for Paper II is 2 hours.

Syllabus: The syllabus for Paper I is divided into two parts:

Part I: General Test

•  General Hindi -This section tests the candidate's understanding of the Hindi language, including grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing ability.
•  General English-  This section tests the candidate's understanding of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing ability.

Part II: Language and Literature

1. Translation and Essay: This section tests the candidate's ability to translate from Hindi to English and vice versa. Candidates are also required to write an essay in Hindi and English on topics related to social, cultural, or economic issues.

2. Literature and Language: This section tests the candidate's knowledge of Hindi and English literature, grammar, and linguistic concepts.

For Paper II, candidates have to write short essays or letters in the language they have chosen for the Paper I language and literature test. The topics are usually related to the social, cultural, and economic aspects of India and other topics of general interest.

SSC JHT Application Form 2023

The application form for SSC JHT 2023 will be available on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) once the notification for the exam is released. Here are the steps to fill out the application form:

1. Visit the official website of SSC - ssc.nic.in.

2. Click on the 'Apply' button on the top right corner of the homepage.

3. Click on the 'JHT' tab and select the option 'Apply Now'.

4. Fill in the required details in the registration form and submit it to generate a registration number and password.

5. Log in using the registration number and password.

6. Fill in the personal, academic, and other details in the application form.

SSC JHT Admit Card 2023

SSC JHT Admit Card 2023 will be released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on its official website a few weeks before the exam date. Candidates who have successfully applied for the SSC JHT Exam 2023 can download their admit card from the official website of SSC by logging in with their registration number and password. The admit card will contain details such as the candidate's name, photograph, roll number, exam center address, date and time of the exam, and exam day instructions. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card to the exam center along with a valid photo ID proof.

SSC JHT Result in 2023

The SSC JHT result 2023 is expected to be announced by the Staff Selection Commission in November 2023 tentatively.
